I knitted these while recovering from the broken ankle. I watched a lot of Star Trek dvds, so the official name for these socks are my Star Trek Recovery socks. The yarn is a hemp and wool blend that I bought from the Green Festival. The pattern is "Best Foot Forward" from Knit Socks! by Betsy Lee McCarthy.

Recovery sucks. This is the last of my "hospital-themed" photos, and this about sums it up. Although I had no major procedure or operation I now have a taste of what it's like. I think often times we so take for granted our health and what a blessing it is. I cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like to be bed-ridden or have some chronic illness. I think we all should take the time to examine our sympathies for these people and attempt to empathize with them. Soften your heart.

Another day in the hospital for momma. She's a true fighter though. She got up and walked today without fainting or anything. She is my hero. Tonight is her last night there and tomorrow she can come home. It kills me to see her in there, but it's for the best. Anyway, I got the job of my dreams today and my roommate from last year is in town this weekend so I'm so excited. Have a good one y'all.
