Just checked in to Hotel California and might never leave.
The needle drops, the solo soars, and suddenly it’s 1976 again.
Smooth, haunting, unforgettable.
Some albums are timeless for a reason.

Today I saw Bill the music man again and here is another three 45's singles starting from the left is:
Jealous Guy By Roxy Music
I wanna wake up with you By Boris Gardiner
I can't Go for That (No Can Do) By Halls and Oats
(2003)
"I'd put a needle to her disc, if you know what I mean."
"Heh, I'd spin her till she skips, if you know what I mean."
"Yeah, well I'd flip her around and play Side B, if you know what I mean."
...and so forth.
Here is just the first two LPs that I got on Saturday, The one on e the left is my all time favorite Album.
Marshall Jefferson, Ten City (which included the stellar diva legend Byron Stingily) AND Steve "Silk" Hurley
OH SHIT
I remember the first time I heard this I basically shot a load in my pants, if you know what I'm saying.
I'm not sure that my reaction today is any less enthusiastic. This song werks, Werqs, and WORKS!
If you've never heard it, OH I'M SORRY. It's an amazingly beautiful observation about life sung by the diva we now think of as the keeper of Sylvester's flame and it's DEEEEEP house, that starts off with an Acid House acapella intro.
OMG I have to go listen to it!
Pink Floyd (1979)
Probably won't make it out to see Roger Waters when he swings on by, but here's the next best thing.
I don't know though, it's just not The Wall without Gilmour on "Comfortably Numb."

Needed a little magic so I dropped the needle on Queen – Greatest Hits LP and the room lit up. Every track's a powerhouse—anthemic, theatrical, unforgettable.
Long live the Queen!
Today is #RecordStoreDay and we are going to be shopping at some of our favorite vinyl record shops in Greenwich Village and East Village today but will miss the House of Oldies shop on Carmine Street, which sadly closed in 2020 due to the pandemic. The owner, Bob Abramsom opened the shop in 1969 and since its beginning it sold only vinyl records & specialized in rare and out of print vinyl records from the 1950s to 1970s. (Swipe left for 2nd photo of Bob inside his shop).

When we interviewed Bob for our book “Store Front II- A History Preserved” in 2010 he told us that that he “got the bulk of his current inventory years ago from record stores that were going out of business. I bought all new records, not used ones and put everything away.”

Bottom Left: Jenny Morris song She Has To Beloved
Bottom Right: Alison Moyet All Cried Out
Prized possessions!
The vinyl three disc set companion to the live performance released on CD. The extended remixes of songs played in Larry's live set, but these are the full tracks, not mixed.
This collection is OUT OF THIS WORLD FANTASTIC.
The CD is an absolutely magical live recording of Larry Levan spinning in the Paradise Garage, New York City, on Thanksgiving Eve, 1979.
Of course you know, that Larry was good friends with the founder of West End Records, Mel Cheren - who came up with the idea of the extended dance mix - and was best friends with Frankie Knuckles. Larry had the Garage locked up, so Frankie moved to Chicago to spearhead the Warehouse.
* * * These are some of the leading people that birthed an entire culture. * * *
When this came out in 2000, it became THE soundtrack to my home on West 30th. I'm sure my friends MUST've grown tired of it. *blush* But they indulged me and let me work it out. www.flickr.com/photos/ajarda/sets/72157601369973286/
(I STILL love as much as ever.)
Both the CD and the vinyl covers feature glow in the dark white ink! I couldn't capture it, though.
Larry Levan passed away many years ago. Mel Cheren just passed away this December 7, 2007.
I will always honor their legacies.
