Chantecoq au lac du Der
C'est le plus petit héron européen. Les blongios nains vivent surtout dans les roselières inondées où ils trouvent des conditions favorables à leur mode de nidification mais également à la recherche de leur subsistance. Un photographe m'avait signalé l'avoir vu passer devant l'observatoire de Chantecoq. J'ai tenté ma chance et elle m'a sourit. Il n'est vraiment pas facile à attraper en vol car à peine plus gros qu'un canard et très rapide. C'était la bonne surprise de mon séjour au Der où j'aurai vu finalement 7 des 9 variétés de hérons présents en France.

It is the smallest European heron. Little bittern live mainly in flooded reedbeds where they find conditions favorable to their nesting mode but also in search of their subsistence. A photographer had reported to me having seen her pass in front of the Chantecoq observatory. I tried my luck and she smiled at me. It is really not easy to catch in flight because barely bigger than a duck and very fast. It was the good surprise of my stay at Der where I finally saw 7 of the 9 varieties of herons present in France.

Recherche Bay, an embayment of the Tasman Sea in the extreme south-eastern corner of Tasmania, Australia. This is as far south as you can drive in Tasmania. The place is named after the Recherche, a ship of the French Navy that took part in an expedition exploring the Australian coast in 1792.

Kanyakumari (Inde) - Ces pêcheurs sont en grève et tentent de passer le temps. Le mouvement social a été déclenché le jour de mon arrivée à Kanyakumari. Deux jours auparavant, un violent cyclone avait traversé le Sud du Kerala et une partie du Tamil Nadu à la verticale du Cap Comorin.
Au moment où je prends cette photo, plus de 200 pêcheurs sont portés disparus. Devant l'inertie des autorités, les professionnels de la mer ont d'arrêté le travail pour que les recherches s'intensifient.
On ne retrouvera que les corps sans vie d'une vingtaine de marins.
Kanyakumari (India) - These fishermen are on strike and are trying to pass the time. The social movement was started the day I arrived in Kanyakumari. Two days earlier a violent cyclone had crossed southern Kerala and part of Tamil Nadu above Cape Comorin.
As I take this photo, over 200 fishermen are missing. Faced with the inertia of the authorities, the professionals of the sea decided to go on strike so that the research could intensify.
Only the lifeless bodies of about twenty sailors will be found.
Travel as far south as the road goes and you will reach Recherche Bay, along with Cockle Creek. Colonial history included some attempts at mining and timber felling and whaling. Now protected, nature has restored its beauty and it can now be enjoyed by all who travel to the end of the road.

Hmmm, SO Yesterday's Photo got some suggestions that it could have been "Time Flies".....yes I agree, but this was the idea that I had for "Time Flies"...
I found wings that I liked better then the sucky ones I used on yesterday's photo too, so YAY!
