Le martin-pêcheur se nourrit principalement de poissons pris depuis un perchoir au-dessus de l’eau. L’oiseau reste posé pendant de longs moments, regardant attentivement l’eau à la recherche de proies, tournant et inclinant la tête et le corps.
Kingfisher feeds primarily on fish taken from perches above water. The bird sits for long periods of time, gazing intently at the water for prey, turning and tilting its head and body.
Recherche Bay, an embayment of the Tasman Sea in the extreme south-eastern corner of Tasmania, Australia. This is as far south as you can drive in Tasmania. The place is named after the Recherche, a ship of the French Navy that took part in an expedition exploring the Australian coast in 1792.
