Jasper has become expert at catching the Oddball on the fly. It's been interesting to observe him evolve and refine his technique. At first it was just a face-forward, mouth-wide, go-for-the-gusto approach. Limited success with that technique - relied heavily on luck. Now as he jumps for the Oddball, he sticks his front paws out and sort of funnels it into his mouth. He catches it almost every time with this technique. Shot blind during Oddball practice.

A red and silver 700-class Dash 9 along with an SD70ACe are the power for BNSF train H-BRCKCK1-05A, which came out of the South Receiver at CP 72 onto Main Track 4 of the BNSF Emporia Sub. They'll cross over to Main Track 2 at CP 87 and head into the North Departure at CP 74.
In the distance, a former Santa Fe GP39-2 being used by BNSF train Y-KCK2161-06A can be seen on Main Track 5 while pulling a big cut of autoracks out of Turner.
It sure is nice to see some red and silver and some blue and yellow among the sea of orange here on these former Santa Fe rails. 5/6/23.
Thumbing through the February edition of FlyPast magazine I was saddened to see that the company behind English Electric (BAC) Canberra PR.9 XH134/G-OMHD and their equally charismatic Hawker Hunter T.7 XL577/G-XMHD (plus another T.7 XL600/G-RAXA) have called in the receivers!!
Absent from last year's UK airshow season, here the pair are seen flying a lovely topside pass during the 2014 Dunsfold Wings & Wheels show, but it can't be too much of a co-incidence that with the grounding of all Hunters following the tragic events at Shoreham's 2015 RAFA Airshow the inevitable knock-on effect seems to have already started.
Another casualty also recently announced due to higher insurance premiums is the cancellation of the 2016 seafront Airshow usually held at Dawlish.
Let's hope that in the end a balanced view will prevail and it won't be long before these beauties are back in the air again.
