The main shop building at Union Pacific’s Downing B. Jenks Shop at North Little Rock, Arkansas, has a large group of locomotives in for rebuild and overhaul on May 19, 2015, including UP SD40-2s Nos. 3151 and 3320 that will become a rebuilt SD40Ns.

Reinforcement looks a little weak too me

CSX SD40-3 4035 and GP38-3 2063 work on switching cars in Taft yard on a gloomy and wet July evening.

A high wave took down the Windansea shack back on Dec 2015. Glad to see it being rebuilt.

AMSTERDAM - One of the most iconic domes of Netherlands (The historical Aviation dome Schiphol) will get a second life in Amsterdam; the first circular Convention location of the Netherlands, it opens the doors in the autumn. In the background the A5.

A trio of former IC GP10's feel right at home on the former IC Amboy District now owned by the Illinois Terminal Belt railroad. Here we see the trio of rebuilds slowly moving a grain train through Wapella Illinois.

Metro-North GP35R 106 rests in Selkirk Yard on Friday, August 7, 2015, before being shipped off to Brookville Equipment for rebuild and paint. The veteran EMD was built in 1964 for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

CP 7033 and 7001 bracket a GEVO on train 281, wheeling west out of Milwaukee on a warm spring day with the Miller brewery in the background. I didn't realize it at the time, but for lack of anything else to do, I'd end up chasing this train halfway across the state.

Y&S 8343 and 1706 navigate one of the numerous rock cuts along the line between Signal and Darlington. 8343 is a former ICG Paducah rebuild GP10 that's been on the railroad for nearly 20 years now.

Launching my website and facebook page last week I thought I would check which images I'd taken that i'd include in my portfolio so revisited the mass upload I did last year and decided to reprocess some that slipped under the radar..using Lightroom. From a trip to Croatia when I went into Bosnia for a day to see this amazing structure in Mostar which was completely destroyed during the war there 20 years ago the locals reproduced it incredibly well and its now lit up spectacularly.

"The Veteran in a New Field" by Winslow Homer was painted shortly after General Robert E. Lee surrendered and the assignation of President Lincoln. A time to heal from a dark past and a "powerful meditation on America's sacrifices and its potential for recovery."

Armchair warriors often fail

And they've been poisoned by these fairy tales

Even though the nation is now recovering from a war of delusion I'm thinking that painting describes today's events just as well.

I used to live next to this beach and there is a fella who has a hut. He rebuilds DOW Racers. Kinda like the details in the old wood.

I truly dislike pretty much everything about CN's AC44C6Ms, but one thing you can't complain about is how spotless most are. So when presented an opportunity to shoot one leading at Paris in some gorgeous evening light, I certainly didn't pass up.

A quartet of Paducah rebuilds roll an eastbound into Scales Mound, IL in 1983.

I think I found the cleanest unit on UP's roster at the end of 2021. Freshly rebuilt UP 6159 leads an empty soda ash train through southeast Houston at heads back to the hills of southwest Wyoming.

On a cool March evening, NS baretable train 205 sits in the siding at Gary, IN. The NS power was having issues, so a pair of fresh CN AC44C6M rebuilds came out from Kirk Yard to assist.

A pretty clean rebuild heads east on the Paynesville Sub in a 1x1 configuration.

Nearly finished with my evening walk, I arrived back at the bridge just in time for this minty fresh rebuild taking a manifest northbound at West Chicago. Conveniently, the thunderstorm to the west had dissipated and the sun dropped below the anvil to give a sliver of glow to this spotless GE.

CSX CW44AC 503 sits on point of Q20305 at Manchester, GA as they work on doubling their short train out of the yard as a northbound manifest pulls in for a crew change beside them.

Q203s consist would include CSX 503 (YN2), CSX 9015 (YN2) and 35 loaded autoracks bound for Baldwin, FL. My friend and I would proceed to chase this train home down nearly the entire Fitzgerald Subdivision (might as well stay entertained on our long drive back to Jacksonville!). At CP Haywood near Waycross, the train combined with I143 then proceeded to south Waycross where they would await a new crew.

Since the 2015 earthquake in Nepal, cities in the Kathmandu valley are in continuous reconstruction.

Under a daylight moon, a westbound TrailVan consist with UPS trailers pulls under the classic Bridge Street truss bridge in East Syracuse behind four-axle trio 3223-5076-5009, while GP-10 rebuild No. 7535 works the cramped van terminal in the vicinity of the old roundhouse on 23 February 1991, as the Admiral strategically takes in the action. The new signal masts being planted look a bit like PTC hardware, but we're still decades away from that.
