New growth after 2007 fires. Sometimes you see things you never saw before in pictures. I heart diptychs.

RELEASE THE CREATURES Exhibition by Creaturisticart

When: 10th to 21st October 2017

Where: Work-Shop Makery (shop window), 106 Oxford St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

Sydney artist Daniel Muscat (aka Creaturisticart) explores various techniques to highlight his conceptual style ‘creatures’. Originally coming from a beach town in Jervis Bay down the South Coast, he enjoys exploring various concepts that contrast his personal experiences.

My art is focused around characters which I call 'creatures', and depict an exaggerated form and thought process of the human face which conceptually highlights a psychological journey of my self expression.

I highlight concepts of life and death, mainly focusing on rebirth. Through this timeline I focus on my sexuality and personal experiences through life; highlighting the closure and insecurities of what I once held to the anxieties I have to this day. Once we come out of our shell we become reborn. Through the masks like creatures I contrast a thought and unrealistic realm. This realm is what we develop in our mind. Our mind is focused on different opinions, thoughts, ideas, beliefs, concepts - I develop these into horrifying alien like beings of what I call 'creatures'.

'Release the Creatures' is my first exhibition and a collection of works highlighting my characteristic style. You are able to watch my art on my Facebook and Instagram.

John Corbin at Rebirth 2007

Back in February we had the coldest weather Austin has seen in 15 years or so. My new house has a palm tree and several palm bushes that I feared were lost in the freeze. But it appears that my concern was premature.
