I thought this a cute photo of three men reading the evening newspapers in Munagacharla, India. I like it the way the young boy is standing on his tiptoes and dad is sharing the paper with him.

About 3:30 pm, Church Street, below St. Mary Parade, Lancaster. I saw her sitting on the steps leading up to the Priory and Castle, and I was struck by the composition she made against the shadow on the wall. I explained my project and asked her permission. She said she takes photographs herself, so she was interested. I told her afterwards that most of the people in my photos said they were pretending to read as I took the picture, because I had interrupted them. She said she was actually reading; it took quite a while as I tried out various apertures to deal with the bright sunlight on her face.

Her name is Nicky, and she is reading a book of critical essays on 19th Century novels. She is studying for an exam in June (you can just see the coloured post-its she is using to mark up the book). She works full-time at a university while also studying at the Open University; this is the last module before she finishes her degree. So she has every minute of spare time planned out; that is why she is sitting outside studying on this sunny Saturday. We talked about studying literature. She is skeptical about some of the interpretations she hears, but she said the course had given her an appreciation for Shakespeare; I wished I had asked which 19th Century novels she liked best.

Thank you, Nicky, for allowing me to interrupt your studying, and best wishes on the exam. Other photos in my series of readers are here: www.flickr.com/photos/greg_myers/albums/72157652125931010.

It's not unusual to find Jacob with a book in hand.

nothing better on a winter afternoon after school than reading in one's favourite armchair...

Locally printed ARCs for my beta readers for Pentecost. Now to await the comments from real readers!

Boise Airport, 3:10 pm. There weren't many books in the waiting area. Gabrielle is reading 'The Girls' by Emma Cline (in hardback!). I've heard some discussions of it on the BBC.

Thank you for participating in my project, and apologies for interrupting your reading. Other photos in my series of readers are here: www.flickr.com/photos/greg_myers/albums/72157652125931010.

Dublin City Libraries held its 6th annual Readers' Day on Saturday 6th October 2007. Authors such as Louis de Bernieres, Carlo Gebler, Antonia Quirke, Gerald Dawe, Adrienne Dines and Ailbhe Smyth took part as did Kate Bateman, Sarah Binchy, Maria Dickenson, Una Healy & Fiona Tierney. Chaired by Guy Pringle discussions will range over a woman's obsession with film, new ideas for book clubs and the question of whether women write too many dull novels about domesticity.

This event was for members of book clubs attached to Dublin City Libraries

Psychic reader sign, Cleveland, Ohio. I like the type — and the fact that the cards are blank.

He was at the Music Room Cafe, on the balcony, reading a text and then looking up and staring into the distance. He was memorising a part in a play, which he explained was an updated version of Romeo and Juliet, after they are married. I've tried to capture this concentrated work of memorisation with two photos.

Thank you for agreeing to be part of my project. Other photos in my series of readers are here: www.flickr.com/photos/greg_myers/albums/72157652125931010.

A closed independent bookshop. Digbeth, Birmingham

It happens when my cd reader didn't read any cd anymore. Most of the times this is because the lens is dirty. For cleaning it you must open the cd reader and clean the lens with Isopropylic alcohol ("alcohol isopropílico" in spanish) as my Jack Sparrow does.

Now, my cd reader is operative and happy again :)

(and I need it, it also burns Cds!!)

Listening now: My Linking Park CD!! :D

Audio cassette tape nailed to MDF.

Media City, Salford Quays, 2:30 pm. He was sitting in the park outside the BBC and ITV buildings. When I asked his permission, he showed me he was reading a French grammar, not something I've seen before with these readers.
