From The Reader, a small run book of typographic design and collage composed with entirely analog mediums.
With my trusty Canon AE-1 film camera, I was able to capture a candid moment at Starbucks. She was deep into reading her newspaper and thought it would make a nice Edward Hopper-esque shot. If only it was at night.
Film and manual focus are difficult because you don't see instant results. "Did I get wanted in focus?" "How did it look?" "Was it exposed properly?" Those are questions I ask when I shoot with film now. When I shot with film in high school (and there were no digital cameras yet), it didn't bother me as much. Anyway, I was pleased with the final result. Enjoy the photo.
