I was a big fan of comic books in elementary school. I read Superman, Batman, etc, but I think my favorite was called Metal Men which dealt in vicious metal stereotypes. Lead was fat and slow, Mercury was hot-headed, Platinum was a sexy woman dressed in fetishwear. I lost interest in Jr. High, but then discovered underground comics on trips to San Francisco in the 60s. These are all that remain of my collection: Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers #2, Zap Comix #3 and Slow Death #4.
After that, I lost all interest in comic books. Now I read comic strips -- Calvin & Hobbes, Doonesbury, Far Side, Dilbert, etc. and watch the occasional comic-based movie.
WHEE!!! it's unopened, of course i kept staring and hugging the box the whole time we were out, but i'm now pooped so i think i'll just head to bed first.....
isn't that dollcena just so cute? she's a "dandy pumpkin great" which i guess is jack skellington's other name? her hair is no longer held together by the rubberbands that came with her, that came off while i was trying to put on her facemask....
i'll be attempting to customize her and give her a faceup maybe tomorrow....my room and worktable needs packing!

Die Besucher der re:publica 14 konnten sich zu unserer hypervernetzten Welt austauschen, über die Vorteile vom gelegentlichem Abschalten sprechen, und uns und der Netzcommunity ihre Gedanken zum Thema on/off-line mitteilen. Diese hielten zwei Tage lang life in einem graphical recording fest!

I happened upon this red Turban yesterday in Westport at Re-Runs ( www.re-runs.com/ ) and thought it would look great for that look on Kirsten.
