Here’s Wataru with the two Re Ment boxes I got yesterday. As an Asian guy I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a Re Ment rice cooker for years but they’ve always been priced out of my reach. But I finally got this vintage looking one.
I also got this phone and clock set cuz I’m a sucker for phones with cords like this.
Only been there a couple of times. Was about to leave almost empty-handed when a small flock of these flew into a nearby tree. Hard to get shots; very active foragers.

The fern is stamped with paint on a painted piece of sticky back canvas. I then sprayed it with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Ink to give it a subtle shimmer.

Não é muito recente a preocupação que se vem tentando incutir com o ambiente.
Entre artigos, filmes, publicidade, noticias alarmistas, muito é feito.
Mas parece sempre uma tarefa imensa para um indivíduo.
No entanto, há tantas pequenas coisas que cada um de nós pode fazer em prol desta nosso planeta :)
Pequenas mas importantes coisas como a regra dos 3 R: reduzir o consumo, Reutilizar e Reciclar o possível.
Pequenos gestos como fechar a torneira enquanto se lavam os dentes, lavar a loiça com água no alguidar em vez de água corrente, utilizar detergentes ecológios e biodegradáveis em vez dos habituais, ou pelo menos diminuir as quantidades utilizadas...

Barred owlets
Rock Creek Park, Washington. I have been seeing reports and pictures of barred owls in the District for years, but had never seen one. I always expected that I would hear one from afar giving it's distinct "Who Cooks For You?" call (ironic, since owls are known raw food enthusiasts). I never expected to see owlets first.
I saw one chick in there on Monday, and then two chicks and an adult in there on Tuesday. They were tearing something apart for breakfast, but I couldn't see what it was. I watched them for a minute or so,then the adult took off. Taking that as my cue to go away, I moved on.

Thought i'd have another stab at the Macdonald hotel again, miserable grey skies again so more PP required but I've got a high contrast preset in Lightroom which seemed to do the trick and then just a touch up in silver efex. The white lines are the different floor's balconys and the large expanse on black is the sky. Visited at lunch time as we had an hour and a half, more than enough time to eat AND get a shot in.
Need to go to an art shop tomorrow to buy a plastic curve so I can draw my roof's curve accurately. Might pop back here again whilst im there, maybe some ICM could look interesting?! Hmm!
Yesterday was good, finalised my design and now I just need to do the tech drawings and make a model of it for the final review presentation next Monday. Could be, no WILL BE a long week. Lots to get done. Ah well!
Came home and had an email from PicStop saying i'd won a caption contest a few days ago, didn't think anything of it, but i've won a little SD card, always a nice surprise and useful too! :)
Spent the evening sorting the dimensions, finalising them and such. Ready for drawing to begin today! Bring it, got a pad of paper and pens brimming with ink!
Going to get up earlyish and pop to town and be back again late morning hopefully. No other plans really..
