I almost hesitate to post this...this was taken with my first digital camera, a Sony CD1000 (on low resolution to boot!) Anyway, I was just north of Marshfield, WI on Mann Rd when this one unit wonder came by. I can't remember if these are coal empties from Weston or ore empties headed back to the range. Oh how I wished I had set the camera to the right image size!

Rich's Deli at the summit of Sparta Mountain in Stockholm, NJ, has always been a well known lunch stop for NYS&W crews as well as a spot for railfans. An early evening SU-99 tops out over the grade past the deli before the drop down towards Sparta.

There are a couple of these inspection openings on the nature strip at the northern end of St Georges Rd. This artist now uses both of them... and, entertainingly, changes the theme quite often. A main artery into the cbd, no parking nearby... it was an experience to hear the sound of so many different car horns when I pulled over for a quick photo in the rush hour.

Mech Monday is back, and after seeing the theme for this week was “tracks” I knew I had to join in on the fun. I only got those giant wheels from Metalbeard’s Trike a few weeks ago, and have been wanting to use them. The whole mech came together in one Saturday morning and I’m very pleased with the result. The front tracks are mounted on joints, so they have several different configuration options.
