This nondescript control stand was EMD's standard for many years. In this case, it belongs to former Louisville & Nashville GP30 number 1030. The geriatric veteran now pulls excursion trains at Oak Ridge. How many hands have flipped its generator field or headlight switches, jockeyed its throttle back and forth from Idle to Run 8, or thrown its reverser this way or that? For sure, however, no hoghead placed the selector lever above into dynamic brake mode: L&N's GP30s were never equipped with 'em.
