The watch together with the support is 5 cm in diameter. Only the clock surrounded by the metal band with the 12 circles is 2.5 cm in diameter

I found these little feathers on the grass that were plucked out together during a fight between two house sparrows while I was visiting my friend. The screeching of them called our attention but luckily they stopped fighting then went their own way.

This is a macro shot of a Barbie's feather scarf. In addition to the Canon EF 100mm macro lens, I added my old Raynox DCR-250 clip macro lens.

⚜Thanks very much for your views and comments, really appreciated!

Have a wonderful day / night my dear friends! Cheers!!!

While watering my little plant today, I thought it was sick with mold, mildew, or a fungus! But checking online, I was relieved that it's ok. Those white particles are "trichomes".

"Trichomes are small hairs on the leaves of the the air plants which help them absorb water, airborne minerals, and helps them to regulate their temperature. Trichomes are important since air plants do not grow in soil and have traditional root systems. Trichomes can absorb moisture directly from the air, even without the plant having to get damped by rain, mist, or morning dew."

the page of the book has 3.7x5.2 cm, I added the little blue flowers and white flower and they are natural, picked from my yard

I was cleaning this Lambis spider conch that my family sent me and I remembered that "Drips" was a theme in one of the groups. And I said to myself... why not put this one?

Don't the liverleaf stamens look like small lollipops? 😄

Extreme macro, a focus stack of multiple images captured with the M.Zuiko 60/2.8 macro and a Raynox DCR-250 attached. The resulting magnification ratio should be around 5:1.

Took this back in April, Spring being my favourite time of year as everything is exploding into life and the weather is not too hot, good for avoiding heat distortion. I happened upon this small, decorative garden area, affront of this housing estate and caught sight of this Bee asleep on the job. It really is a completely alien world insects live in, both dimensionally and environmentally.

I hope everyone is well and as always, thank you! :)

Took this a little while ago down by the main Canal on Kaiserin. Again utilising the WB for this hazy blue, which if you hadn't have guessed by now, is my favourite colour and I am in love with it! I am not even sure what type of flower this is, yet it was growing in abundance along the hedge rows, so with my trusty Raynox I pulled this out.

I hope everyone has had a great weekend and so as always, thank you! :)

Digging through my archives of Plants & Flowers I came across this one from my old Balcony garden, this was just after a soft rainfall in July two years ago. I thought it had portrait quality to it albeit a flower, but it seemed so much more captivating with these tiny raindrops still upon it. I think it speaks for itself without me rambling on!

Well, I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

Possibly I'm a little late to the party on this one, however, this Macro was a nightmare to try and take, I was being, despite the repellent I was using, mobbed by Mosquitoes, most were minding their distance except of course there's always one, as just as I got the manual focus sharp with the Raynox a Mozzie flew directly into my ear, I bolted straight upright in a panic, fought blindly to get the bugger out! However, victorious but shaken I managed to recollect myself and get this shot.

I hope everyone is well and as always, thank you! :)

So... I am finally on the road to recovery and back to photography again thank Gaia. For anyone who remotely gives a shit I was off for a while with a chest virus, and guess what? It wasn't Covid, ya know there's more than one virus in the world, still, but trying telling that to a big pharma corporate commissioned doctor and paranoid brainwashed pharmacist! !

Now, about the photo, my best friend was gifted with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and so by dusting off the Raynox I got a macro of the beautiful colours that I thought looked rather like a muted toned sunset, I struggled for a name but in the end entitled it with every adjective I could work around what I thought it looked like the most.

I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

My first Spider image of 2022, spied this very large girl when out walking Bobby, hurried back home, grabbed camera, hurried back down the street and she was gone, damn it! Anyway, luckily I got an hour to myself and headed back out that same evening and she was right there waiting for me. Now I do believe this is a Walnut Orb Weaver, however never seen so much orange on one before, on first inspection she seemed to be almost grey but the Macro picked up these unusual colours, any idea anyone?

So, I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

Taken last Summer down by the Canal on Kaiserin-Augusta-Allee, these tiny flowers were so ethereal under a macro focus, tweaking the WB gave these that midnight blue feel yet also somewhat Oceanic in appearance. This hue of blue is one of my favourite colours to work with.

I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

I am in love with the Blue Grape Hyacinth as I have noticed many other photographers are too my dear brothers and sisters! At the moment in this present early phase of Spring, said flowers are very small, less than the size my thumb, which is perfect for full frame Macro, I am also enjoying the experimentation of White Balance, which I wanted to augment and expand the blue tonality, giving this an aquatic look, as if to provide an undersea feel which is somewhat animated in its presentation, but rest assured is still an organic photo.

I hope everyone is well and so as always thank you! :)

A very pessimistic lily of the valley, not appreciating the Scottish weather - shot using my Raynox DCR-250 attached to the front of my macro lens.

The title? Well, what else could I choose?! Last night it snowed heavily for the what is going to be the last time for this side of Winter. I took Bobby for a walk and stepped upon the freshest snow I have ever experienced, certainly for years. It was the most liberating and childlike sensation, barely anyone around and so thus also very peaceful, the silence of Snow is highly therapeutic as well as the new whited out terrain it can create, white is the colour of innocence and when it falls from the sky and recreates the land, it's as many would say, serene!

I hope everyone is well and so as always thank you! :)

Working my way through the photos I have remaining from 2021, so many images I never post but ought to, this from my old balcony, hopefully I'll get some more this coming Summer on my new one, which might I add is much bigger. So this one is back to my macro, which is photography I feel more comfortable with, I know it's very popular and I can see why, there's a whole new world at least visually utilising this category.

I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

#flowers

Interior of an already slightly withered purple Eustoma blossom. In German, this pretty cut-flower is also known as tulip rose, because it looks like a rose on the exterior, but like a tulip on the interior (well, sort of). For further confusion, Eustoma actually belongs to the gentian family, and therefore also goes by the name of prairie gentian, but is also known as Texas bluebell, although bluebells aren't gentians, nor are they roses or tulips, but belong to the Campanula family. Oh, and have I mentioned that the Greek name Eustoma translates as "pleasant mouth"?

The flower is endemic to the warm areas of the southern United States, to Mexico, the Caribbean and Southern America – which must be the reason why the second name this flower is known under in Germany is "Japanrose": Japanese rose. OK, let's settle on Eustoma ;) Especially the purple, lilac and white colour varierties are being cultivated for the cut-flower market.

My photo is a focus stacking made of 15 images (combined in-camera). I've used both extension tubes (10 and 16 mm) to get as close to the yellow pistil as possible. I'm not 100 percent happy with the sharpness, but as usual it was impossible to re-shoot the exact same image, so I decided to stick to what I have. Processed only minimally in DXO PhotoLab (since I already had the in-camera Jpg). In ON1 I've added a subtle vignette and some glow.

HMM, Everyone!

Another from playing with my new toy, the Raynox DCR-250, again on the 18-55mm Kitlens. This is from a walk with my girlfriend and the dog a few days ago. Weather here in Berlin has been spectacular and I managed to get a shot or two of the already very busy Bees so far this early Spring. This is slightly cropped as the flowers were incredibly bright and distracting from said Bee.

Also, I took some advice the other day; this Photo is sRGB not AdobeRGB and so hopefully my photos will stop degrading when I upload them.

So I hope everyone is well and as always, thank you! :)

There is, lucky for me, an almond tree growing outside the very front of my new apartment, the blossom has just started to appear and much more is to come, on this day there had been some light Spring rain, that had gently settled on the petals so I decided to capture a few, it will be much better hopefully in the near future if and when the Sun finally reappears as opposed to the blanket overcast whiteness that was then apparent.

I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

Creativity is hard, not just by being artistically creative, but by having to seek a way to do things that others are not in a certain field, in this case, photography; I ask myself, has it not already been done before? Is this a saturated category? Will my friends understand what I am trying to convey? Do I look like a twat? Aaaaannnd you get the picture, I hope.

So I was walking Bobby this morning and I came across this lone tiny Mushroom, there were others but this one was the best looking and healthiest of the small group, standing out alone. So with my trusty Raynox I managed to get in close enough to avoid the dodgy background right outside my house in what was a cramped environment. In colour it looked atrocious but when rendered in monochrome it kinda reminded me of the movie Eraserhead, I am sure I've done David Lynch proud!

I hope everyone is well, I love everyone today and I hope your week is so far a positive one, and so as always, thank you! :)

On the balcony and perusing the various plant life came this little explorer, ran back in to grab my camera and by the best stroke of luck it decided to perch for a second or two up on the Sweet Williams, just long enough to get this shot. Seems these Ladybird Nymphs are a popular choice amongst macro enthusiasts and to be honest I can see why, they're a brutal specimen but with interesting armour and natural bio-defences, that come in contrasting colours.

Why Problem Child? Be lucky you're not the Aphid as these guys are voracious eaters.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and so as always, thank you! :)

Finally a new one for 2022, I took Bobby for a walk through the woods near Karluster Straße, my new home and took a few captures, I just love how when the Sun is at a certain point, the moss seems to literally glow in response, I really like that. So with my trusty RaynoxDCR250 I snapped a few Macros, I hope I caught this right.

Well, I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)
