O! how I would have raged had the lights flickr'd out. I had to not only tone them down, but I had to keep the vibrancy of the tree, which, according to Photoshop, is yellow. Ew.

The white of the frontmost logs was clipped, and I fixed that.

So I really liked how this image made things look like steps going up from the left tot he right. When I adjusted the image so that the building would not be supper dark it ended up leaving the building in the back ground looking white a light bulb, bright and with out detail.

By masking only the white area i was able to lower the exposer in that area returning lots of detail and even a restaurants sign became visible again!

I decreased the highlights from the bright windows so that the concentration from the chess match was not lost.

MINEX CEO Dr. Stefan Stoev speaks at the MiningShow in Dubai 2023

A colossal, glittering mound of freshly harvested salt dominates the foreground, its coarse crystalline texture catching the harsh, directional light of the late afternoon sun. Deep, inky shadows carve dramatic chasms into the white peak, emphasizing the sheer volume and rough, granulated surface of this elemental harvest. This striking scene unfolds at the vast Salinas Grandes, an expansive high-altitude salt flat situated in the remote reaches of the Argentine Northwest. Beyond the monumental pile, the arid, rolling hills of the Andean plateau stretch towards the horizon, their warm, ochre tones contrasting sharply against the pristine white salt and the deep, gradient blue of the high-altitude sky. The photographer utilizes a deep depth of field to keep both the intricate details of the salt mound and the distant, undulating mountain ridges in sharp focus, anchoring the viewer firmly within this desolate yet beautiful landscape. To the right, orderly stacks of precisely cut salt blocks reveal the human element of this environment, highlighting the traditional, labor-intensive extraction methods still employed in the Puna region. The arid, biting wind of the altiplano is almost palpable in the stark clarity of the atmosphere, a testament to the extreme conditions under which these local miners operate. The interplay of light and shadow transforms the seemingly mundane industrial byproduct into a rugged, miniature mountain range of its own, echoing the grandeur of the distant Andes. There is a profound silence captured in the frame, broken only by the implied crunch of coarse salt underfoot and the vast emptiness of the high desert. This raw depiction of resource extraction beautifully encapsulates the stark, unforgiving, yet visually arresting nature of Jujuy and Salta's borderlands. This image is a collaborative production by Samuel Jeffery and Audrey Bergner for Project 23.

Here is my improved image. I took Zhu's suggestion by cropping out the left part, which does add a sense of mystery. I also cropped out the right part, because after revisiting the photo, I felt that it was also empty space with no purpose.

I think a good 60% of my childhood is still in my room. i had some fun with the bright colors in that toybox over there.

I used a black/ white layer to darken the foreground trees, and then two specific color layers to bring out both colors in the sky.

Before: 4250 K; After: 3700 K. Determined setting by using the Auto feature and then tweaking slightly to get a color temperature to my liking.

Placed a mask over the background, including the top of each wall aroudn the marker. Increased the exposure of the marker and base by one stop to bring out details.
