These continers, photographed in the Marrakech Dye Souk, hold the raw materials that are crushed to produce the various powders used for making dyes.
These are the color swatches from a line of hair extensions that Jessica Simpson endorsed; some hair salon donated their entire, brand-new stock of these hair extensions to the thrift store I used-to work for. I have to assume they donated them because they didn't sell well, but at the thrift store they FLEW off our shelves at $12 a piece. I bought the color swatches, and have embedded them in red, glittery plastic resin to make a very weird necklace. It's not finished yet. Also, DO NOTE the facial expressions on the illustrated ladies here; these ladies are so miserable without their corrective Jessica Simpson hair pieces! Look how much their lives are improved in the "after" illustrations! The "before" ladies look like someone stole their child along with their fluffy hair! Hair IS happiness, I guess...

Cut grass is turned arond to allow for further drying. It's summer, the weather is good and allows for a second cut.

I've already silvered the edges on all of these, but this is a bunch of "raw material" for my reclaimed component jewelry. The large pendant will actually need a little more filing and the Adaptec chip will become a surface for a silhouette, I think.
Center and left columns are pendants. Right-side pairs are earrings.
Currently undecorated, only edged in silver.
Leather from animal hides such as goat or buffalor is used to make shadow puppets in Kerala. The leather is first de-haired using a spinning apparatus seen in the hands of this young puppet master
With heavy machinery all over the place, you see lot of controls; indeed a control freak's heaven.

IPP also makes plastic casings that protect digital thermometers. Every casing has to go under the human eye to see if there are any flaws or inconsistencies.

iamakittehcouch: @jetpackblues Speaking as a *formerly* loose woman, I wish they weren't so damned polite all the time! Unfortunately there's always 1 or 2 bad eggs in a basket. Sorry for your friend's experience. I'm particularly fond of this image at the moment partly because it shows a happy flirty vintage-type encounter but there is also the potential for threat below the surface. One just doesn't know. Good eye, my friend.
