Located west of Portsmouth, Ohio, a mile and a half hike leads to the arch, overlook which is 500' above the Ohio River Valley. The hills of northern Kentucky form the background. Hiking weather and a variety of wildflowers in bloom. There are at least two rock gardens along the trail.

Hiking the narrows to Raven Rock in Southern Ohio. Long, level stretch on the mountain's top. Loved being in the shade.

Beside the trail leading to Raven Rock Arch in Scioto County, Ohio. Always see a snake in this area.

The Lumberville-Raven Rock pedestrian bridge stretches across the Delaware River connecting New Jersey with Pennsylvania. I was browsing through some old files looking for something else and I was taken by the bridge.

Raven rock - mountain climbing in upper danube valley, southern germany

This 10' sandstone span is at the end of the hiking trail. Has a beautiful view of the Ohio River and the bridges of Portsmouth, Ohio. There are three natural arches at Raven Rock Nature Preserve. The trail is 2.5 miles out and back and climbs 577 feet . Temps in the high 80's, but the trail is mostly in the shade. Took some effort to climb up the rocks from below the arch. Won't do that again. Slept good last night.

"Raven Rock is an unincorporated community and hamlet along the Delaware River approximately three miles (4.8 km) north of Stockton along New Jersey Route 29. The hamlet was known earlier as Saxtonville. It is located within Delaware Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. It is the site of Bull's Island Recreation Area. The rock outcrop for which it is named is the southwest corner of the Hunterdon Plateau.

The Lumberville–Raven Rock Bridge is a free pedestrian bridge over the Delaware River, owned and operated by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission. The bridge, formerly a road bridge from 1856 to 1944, connects Bull's Island Recreation Area to Lumberville, Solebury Township, Pennsylvania.

From 1852 to 1952 the Pennsylvania Railroad operated a passenger stop in Raven Rock via their Belvidere Division. This segment of the railroad continued to be used for freight until 1978 when the line closed and was subsequently demolished for a recreational trail in the early 1980s.

The Raven Rock Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 10, 2015 for its significance in community development and architecture." - info from Wikipedia.

The fall of 2022 I did my 3rd major cycling tour. I began my adventure in Montreal, Canada and finished in Savannah, GA. This tour took me through the oldest parts of Quebec and the 13 original US states. During this adventure I cycled 7,126 km over the course of 2.5 months and took more than 68,000 photos. As with my previous tours, a major focus was to photograph historic architecture.
