The photo was taken on the first day of the year when it was warm enough even for Cleo to go outside for a while. I don't think that I had ever seen her lying in the grass in January before. In the meantime the weather is colder and quite wet again and Cleo wouldn't even think of setting a paw outside.

I originally wanted to take a photo of Cleo bur she didn't want to cooperate. So I looked around for another photo model and found the other tabby, Sethi, who is usually even less cooperative than Cleo. Today he was obviously too exhausted to complain. :)

Nobody enjoys summery weather more than Cleo. At a time of day when all other cats were indoors or at least stayed in the shade because it was too hot for them, Cleo still relaxed in the blazing sunshine on the lawn.
Just a quick photo of Tofu in the garden. The capture shows that after the recent rain we have some green grass again, mainly around the garden shed. Other parts of the lawn are still brown and I doubt that they will recover.
I have a family and work-wise very busy week and won't be able to comment on all your photos but I'll do what I can.
Today we have had the most sunny day of the week (things will go downhill again weatherwise in the next days). My sister and I spent the morning at a gardening exhibition which usually takes place every year but in the last two years had had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. I bought several plants and when I returned home I was busy in the garden under the watchful eyes of the cats. Especially Sethi was very interested in what I was doing.
There are in fact quite a lot of ants on my lawn although I doubt that Cleo is really interested in them. The ants don't seem to bother the cats although they always bite me as soon as I lie down in the grass to take photos. Sometimes a thick fur is quite useful ...
I took this photo last weekend when it was still quite warm. At the moment you wouldn't find Cleo in the garden as the temperature has dropped drastically.
Even if Cleo doesn't smile, she really enjoyed the sunny weather this weekend. This afternoon it was even quite warm in the sunshine, warm enough to relax on the lawn. Only the fact that Filou and Tofu were out of control dampened her spirits. On several occasions they almost knocked her over when they were chasing each other.
I often find Sethi sleeping somehwere on the lawn but it's rather rare that he chooses a place in full sunshine, especially in the summery hot temperatures we have now.
Die Brücke. Mit Tränen aus meinem Garten.

But sad tears are by no means. That morning the dewdrops glittered so brightly – I couldn't resist for joy. If you zoom in, you can see the meadow around it (actually lawn, just not mowed for ages ...) and my home.

Tofu admires his big sister and often follows her around, much to Cleo's dismay. Her face clearly says "do something !". Well, I had to mow the lawn anyway and as Tofu hates the noisy machine he quickly disappeared. Cleo didn't move, though, not even for the lawn mower and I had to pick her up and carry her onto the porch. She has trained her staff well.
A happy Fynn in the garden today. He was relaxing but at the same time surveying his territory, ready to jump up any moment if something interesting happened. The most interesting event while I was nearby was the return of the local jay but that jay is too smart to get anywhere near the cats and Fynn knows that.
Cleo has recovered from her vet visit and I'm glad to report that nobody was seriously injured although the vet is probably quite happy that most likely she won't have to see Cleo for a while. The results of her blood test are okay, the renal values aren't perfect but stable and that's what I hoped for. All in all she is healthier than her much younger brother Fynn.
Sorry for posting another capture of Cleo in the grass but this girl either sleeps somewhere indoors or she relaxes on the lawn. This schedule is only interrupted by her meals.
According to the calendar it's still spring but I it has felt like summer for weeks now. Cleo loves it, spends quite a lot of time outdoors although even she has to look for shade. This time I didn't even have to talk (and bribe) her into lying down in the grass as the grass was dry, although we had had a terrible thunderstorm yesterday evening.
Fynn is the only one of the cats who loves to sleep on the lawn, especially when I'm out too and work in the garden. Watching me work seems to be particularly tiring.
Freightliner Shed 66506 approaches Market Rasen, that well known place in horse racing circles, with a coal empties likely headed for Immingham Docks and a fresh load.
A shot from the archives taken 5 years ago, and apparently too late to identify the train using the usual sources. It's hard to believe that this traffic, for decades the mainstay freight of the UK railway network, has all but dried up over a few short years.
The station was built by the Great Grimsby and Sheffield Junction Railway in 1848, and once sported an overall roof - one of the supporting walls can just be spotted through the waiting room windows. What remains of the station, including this fine waiting room, are now Grade II listed. (Info courtesy Wikipedia).

Filou is angry with my as he needs eye drops three times a day right now and I am the one who applies them. He was diagnosed with a conjunctivitis on both eyes yesterday but it's worse on his left eye than on the one which you see better in this photo. I good at applying eye drops and it's usually only an affair of a few seconds.

Poppy buds in the lawn.
These are now so big that we are now waiting for the red flowers. A great lawn... we used to have that. A flying insect will probably only take a break here. Looks like a young horsefly. I'll keep my distance then.
The green fabric covers some patches with new grass seed in my garden. Obviously the Dragon finds them very interesting and I suppose they won't stay in place for long .... :)
Das ist Rasen. Voll mit den hübschesten Blümchen.

We think that's not a weed ;-) In our green lawn there will soon be „wild“ flowers than grass. We have achieved that because the lawn mower has always made pretty curves around the first daisies and the pyrenees cranesbill :-))
