Entre la vila vella de Mónaco i Montecarlo es troba Port Hercule, el principal i tradicional port del país. Tot i que també s'hi poden trobar barques i llanxes, el que destaca son els mega-iots de luxe, obviament.
Molta gent confon Montecarlo amb Mónaco, quan són dues coses diferents. Mónaco és tot l'estat principesc, el 2on país més petit del món i un ultraluxós paradís fiscal. Montecarlo és només el seu barri més exclusiu, on es troben tant el famós casino, com l'Hotel de Paris.

Located between the old medieval Monaco and the wards of La Condamine and Montecarlo, the Port Hercule is the main and traditional harbour of Monaco. Although there are still small boats there, what gets more atention are the mega-yatches moored there.
Many people confuse Monte Carlo with Monaco, when they are two different things. Monaco is the entire princely state, the 2nd smallest country in the world and an ultra-luxurious tax haven. Monte Carlo is only its most exclusive ward, where both the famous casino, the luxury shops and the Hotel de Paris are located.
The best view of it is from the square in front of the palace of the princes, above the ancient and medieval town of Monaco.

The lionfish is a fish that hunts at night. It spreads its pectoral fins as far as possible then folds them around its prey. It thus forms a sort of enclosure around its mouth. By opening the latter quickly, she creates a depression that allows her to suck up her food.
The lionfish is at the top of the food chain. This poisonous species has almost no predators which explains its proliferation in the Caribbean Sea.
Member of the scorpionfish family, the lionfish can inflict a painful sting, handling must be done with care.

Le poisson-lion est un poisson qui chasse la nuit. Il étale au maximum ses nageoires pectorales puis les replie autour de sa proie. Il forme ainsi une sorte d'enceinte autour de sa bouche. En ouvrant cette dernière rapidement, elle crée une dépression qui lui permet d'aspirer sa nourriture.
Le poisson-lion est au sommet de la chaîne alimentaire. Cette espèce venimeuse n'a quasiment pas de prédateurs ce qui explique sa prolifération dans la mer des Caraïbes.
Membre de la famille des rascasses, le poisson-lion peut infliger une piqûre douloureuse, la manipulation doit être faite avec précaution. 40 000 C'est le nombre maximum d'œufs qu'une femelle peut pondre.

Le poisson-lion, espèce venimeuse, n’a quasiment aucun prédateur à l’exception du poisson-flûte, de quelques mérous et carangues de grande taille, ce qui explique sa prolifération en mer des Caraïbes où l'homme l'a introduit.
Pour lutter contre l’invasion qui en a résulté, les habitants diffusent des recettes de cuisine et encouragent sa pêche commerciale. A d'autres endroits, on essaye d'éduquer les requins de récifs à chasser ce poisson.
The red lionfish (Pterois volitans) is a venomous coral reef fish in the family Scorpaenidae. It is mainly native to the Indo-Pacific region, but has become an invasive species in the Caribbean Sea, as well as along the East Coast of the United States and East Mediterranean and also found in Brazil at Fernando de Noronha.
Red lionfish are clad in white stripes alternated with red, maroon, or brown. Adults can grow as large as 42 cm in length. It has fleshy tentacles which protrude from both above the eyes and below the mouth. The pectoral fin is present in a distinctive fan-like shape, and dorsal spines are long and separated. Every spine of the lionfish is venomous, and while no fatalities due to lionfish stings have been reported, their venom extremely painful.

De gewone koraalduivel (Petrois volitans) behoort tot de familie van de schorpioenvissen. Het is een rifbewoner met een lengte van ongeveer 42 centimeter.
De benaming koraalduivel klinkt heel onheilspellend, en inderdaad is het geen ongevaarlijke vis. Maar levensgevaarlijk kan hij niet genoemd worden. Als je als duiker de vis niet te dicht op zijn huid zit, zodat hij geen kant meer op kan, zal hij ook geen poging doen om zich met zijn giftige stekels te verweren. Doe je dat wel, dan loop je het risico om door één van zijn 18 giftige rugvinstekels te worden gestoken. En alhoewel dat niet direct dodelijk is, zul je het niet licht vergeten.
De rood, bruin of grijs grijs gekleurde vis verandert heel subtiel van kleur om zijn camouflage te verfijnen, en hij beweegt zo traag dat prooivissen, krabben of garnalen niet doorhebben welk gevaar ze lopen. Hij blijft op de loer liggen en drijft zijn prooi in een doodlopend stuk tussen het koraal tot hij toeslaat.
Het natuurlijke leefgebied loopt van Oost-Afrika via Indonesië en Japan tot Australië. Tegenwoordig is de vis ook voor de kust van Florida te vinden, waarschijnlijk door het vrijlaten van vissen uit aquaria. Overdag verschuilt de gewone koraalduivel zich in spleten, onder rotsen of bij koraalformaties.

Le mot rascasse est un nom vernaculaire ambigu en français, pouvant désigner plusieurs espèces différentes de poissons réparties dans plusieurs genres, principalement de la famille des scorpaenidés.
Ce sont dans l'ensemble surtout des poissons de fonds rocheux au corps massif avec des lambeaux de peau, aux nageoires épineuses ainsi que la tête, elle-même dotée d'une large bouche.
Ils sont appelés aussi crapauds de mer ou scorpions de mer.
Plusieurs de ces poissons de mer sont comestibles et d'ailleurs commercialisés.
D'autres espèces, comme les rascasses volantes, sont toutefois très venimeuses de par leurs rayons piquants et chargés de venin, quoique comestibles.
The word scorpionfish is an ambiguous vernacular name in French, which may designate several different species of fish in several genera, mainly of the family Scorpaenidae.
On the whole, they are mainly rocky bottom fish with a massive body with skin flaps, spiny fins and the head, itself with a wide mouth.
They are also called sea toads or sea scorpions.
Many of these sea fish are edible and also marketed.
Other species, such as scorpion fish, are, however, very poisonous because of their pungent, venom-laden rays, though edible.
