Alle Ranunculus soorten zijn giftig voor vee, maar hun onaangename smaak zorgt dat het vee ze vanzelf laat staan.

Ranunculus at Cherrybrook, Sydney.

Each year I plant ranunculus bulbs. This is a 2020 version.

But soon I will be planting my 2023 bulbs - soon to be delivered from Tesselaar Bulbs at Silvan, in the Dandenong Ranges, near Melbourne - Victoria.

Now just have a look at these sensational ranunculus:

Tesselaar bulbs is a company with Dutch origins. It was founded in 1939 by Cess & Johanna Tesselaar when they arrived in Australia from Holland.

And here's the amazing new 'cover' version of Buffalo Springfield's 1960s protest song: 'For What Its Worth'.

Sung today by Stevie Nicks.

This song, with its quest for peace and tolerance, could be applied to the war in Ukraine.

Thanks for stopping by in my gallery. I’m very pleased and really appreciate each and every view of my photo, comments, invitations and awards.

If flowering bulbs are one of natures mysteries, watching the claw-like tuber of a ranunculus produce three dozen rosette-shaped flowers must be one of natures miracles.

Happy Easter

Trying out new macro lens....loving it so far.

The garden had baby crickets all over it . The Ranunculus has a few chew spots where the cricket snacked on it.

Have a wonderful day.

Well it's now Autumn - although you would not know that today in Sydney where, in the Hills District, it is nearly 40 degrees celsius. The hottest day in two years. Wonderful.

Global warming - it has to be!

But anyway, it's time to order your bulbs from the nurseries in Victoria or Tasmania, or go to Bunnings!!

This is a variegated pastel pink & white 'Romantica' ranunculus

aka 'Ranunculus asiaticus'

Dating back to medieval times, this variety of ranunculus derives from gardens in countries around the Mediterranean Sea. But in 2023 it is now available through most nurseries that ship the bulbs to you in Autumn (which, of-course, is right now!)

See this very ranunculus here:

Ranonkel

Buttercup

I can tell something about these species of flowers, but I rater leave it to Goethe:

Ranunculus, not one of you alone I desire. But united in the flowerbed, my eyes see with lust.

Just a photo and a memory of how lovely they were.

Have a good one

One of my favourite flowers.

Have a great Friday

Another shot of amazing layers. I still have some white and red one to share with you. :-))

One of my favorite flowers......I always buy this flower when I see it. I was told this is just like dahlia, after blooming, needed to take it out and replant the following year.

Ranunculus platanifolius (Ranunculaceae) 165 21

Ranunculus platanifolius (the large white buttercup) is a species of the perennial herb of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae).

This plant lives in mountain woods and forests of Europe, from 800 to 2,000 m above sea level.

The large white buttercup is an herbaceous plant 30 – 100 cm tall, with a glabrous stem with many branches.

The leaves are palmate, each divided into five segments with a dentate margin. Flowers are organized into cymes; each flower has a calyx with five sepals, a corolla with five white petals, many stamens with yellow anthers, and many styles.

Like other Ranunculaceae, this plant is toxic because it contains anemonin.

From Wikipedia.

I haven't grown these for years.
