Today I committed my first random act of kindness. I went to my favorite coffee/cookie/pastry/sandwich/salad/goodie shop, Specialty's, where Caroline and her friend were standing in line in front of me. I jumped in front of them and offered to pay for lunch. Caroline is so cool, she immediately said "I have to pay this forward!" That's the spirit! You In?
Some random girl was really drunk whilst I was taking photos near by. She came over and demanded a picture. Never refuse a drunk woman.
I turned on Pandora - Explosions in the Sky radio and decided to just let my mind flow freely and draw whatever fit a current song that was playing. There is a lot that was going through my head but I didn't stop drawing. I just did what I felt like I wanted to do. Sometimes it was lines. Sometimes it was something more. Sometimes it was words. Every single thing in this represents something. In the end, I have to say I understand why people use art therapy so much - it really relaxes you. Makes you feel so different. So wonderful. So inspired.

A glance off of a country road, a random building in the woods....next to a snowmobile trail. Upon inspection we find it's a 3 hole outhouse (no longer in use, of course!) Love all the random memories left behind....Oh the stories it could tell, I'm sure.

Here are some very random sketchbook doodles I have made recently while talking on the phone, or calling in on conference calls or perhaps waiting for my car to be worked on. Some are fun others kinda silly. I sketch in a Canson 5.5x8.5 sketchbook. How about you?
Just now, I was browsing through a bunch of shots I took at the Random Passage film site summer of 2011, and wondered why I hadn't processed more of them. The answer is: they don't look real. With most of the buildings, it's quite clear that, though they might be fairly accurate in reflecting the times, it is also clear that they were never "lived in" - fireplaces with no soot... everything just too clean. Of all the shots I have of the insides of the buildings, this one probably hides this fact the best.
