The Animals were a Tyneside group formed in the early 1960’s with lead singer Eric Burdon. The House of the Rising Sun was possibly their best known hit. My elder sister and her friends climbed on the roof of our Grammar School when they completed 6th Form and sang the Animals' song “We’ve got together outta this place…” It didn’t go down well with the staff!

A portrait captured during a studio shoot with soul singer and The Voice finalist Nicholas David. Nicholas is one of the kindest individuals I've ever met, and his spiritual sense has made him one of the most interesting people I have ever photographed. He regularly bows and shows a hand of peace to anyone he meets, and so he did while I was taking his photo.

If anyone can identify the missing members of the lineup, I would be most grateful.
James Andrews is part of an extended family of musicians which includes his brother Tory (“Trombone Shorty”) and numerous cousins. The band were joined on stage by the Baby Dolls (who hare reviving a tradition dating back to the early 20th century of women masquerading as little baby girls). Lineup includes: Cayetano "Tanio" Hingle (bass d), William Smith (trumpet/v), Kenny Terry (trumpet), Marlon Jordan (trumpet), Corey Henry (trombone), Reginald Stewart (trombone), Byron Bernard (tenor sax), Jeffrey Hills (sousaphone), [probably] Arian Macklin (sousaphone), Kerry "Fatman" Hunter (snare d), Louis Lederman (percussion).
If anyone can confirm whether I’ve correctly identified the lineup, I would be most grateful.
The New Birth Brass Band was formed in 1987 from musicians from the 6th and 7th Wards who had played in the Junior Olympia (Tanio Hingle - the band’s leader, Kerry Hunter, Kenny Terry) and the All Stars. Whilst open to the modern Brass Band influences of funk, hip hop, etc., it has always kept more of a traditional Brass Band sound than most of the bands which appeared then and since.
This was an expanded lineup for Jazzfest which brought together a number of former members of Rebirth (Stewart, Bernard) (plus a current one in Henry) and of the Treme (Hills, Macklin).
