Until the advent of the railways, the United Kingdom used "Local Mean Time" - 5mins 41 secs faster. "Greenwich Mean Time" was adopted first by the Great Western Railway in 1840 with other railways following suit in the following years.

Greenwich Mean Time was legally adopted throughout the island of Great Britain under the Statutes, (Definition of Time), Act 1880 !

Ramsgate is a seaside town in the district of Thanet in east Kent, England. It was one of the great English seaside towns of the 19th century. In 2001 it had a population of around 40,000. Ramsgate’s main attraction is its coastline, and its main industries are tourism and fishing. The town has one of the largest marinas on the English south coast, and the Port of Ramsgate provided cross-channel ferries for many years.

Starbuck was commissioned for the Admiralty in 1942 and was built by Carnie, Scotland.

In 1945 she was decommissioned and sold as fishing trawler to Brixham Fishing Fleet as a Class One Fishing Trawler named "Our Lady Lo".

Mark Archer purchased her in 1973 and renamed her "Starbuck". His restoration lasted 30 years. In 2016 Starbuck was purchased by John Ouzman who berthed her in Ramsgate.

This week, I have mainly been using circular polarising filters, fill flash and a bit of dodge and burn in post processing. Unnecessary use of HDR will return in due course.
