Soft Japanese anemone - experiencing stillness
“Grace is always present. You imagine it is something somewhere high in the sky, far away, and has to descend. It is really inside you, in your Heart, and the moment you effect subsidence or merger of the mind into its Source, grace rushes forth, sprouting as from a spring within you”
― Sri Ramana Maharshi
Let come what comes, let go what goes. See what remains.
~ Ramana Maharshi
I've photographed this fern in our back yard through all the seasons, and watching it change. Nature is so fascinating!
Red fruits of the Rugose rose (Rosa rugosa) dusted by overnight snowfall. Rosa rugosa is native to eastern Asian countries. This prickly bush is widely used as ornamental plant in the UK and Europe but considered as an invasive plant in many places. It has many other common names such as Beach rose, Japanese rose, Ramanas rose and others. The epithet “rugosa” means “wrinkled” in Latin and refers to plant leaves (www.flickr.com/photos/sergeysmirnov/52217627356/). Taken during a short trip to the local wood on Sunday morning after the first overnight snowfall. Snowfall was light and not as bad as in some other areas in the country. Flowers of the rugose rose (Rosa rugosa) in this woodland come in two colours, white and deep pink. This was only one opened flower remaining I was seen was spotted in full bloom but plenty of bright red fruits around. Rosa rugosa has many other common names such as Beach rose, Japanese rose, Ramanas rose among others, and is native to eastern Asian countries. It has been introduced to the UK and Europe over two centuries ago and is naturalised. Primrose Hill Community Woodland. Bath, BANES, England, UK.

Bhagavan (Sri Ramana) spoke about turning inwards to face the Self - that is all that is needed.
If we look outwards, we become entangled with objects and we loose awareness of the Self shining within us. But when, by repeated practice, we gain the strength to keep our focus within, we become one with it and the darkness of Self-ignorance vanishes. Then, even though we continue to live in this false and unreal body, we abide in an ocean of bliss that never fades or diminshes.
- Annamalai Swami in "Final Talks" by David Godman.
twelve years ago in the Jewish museum. I should go again soon.
You are awareness - awareness is another name for you.
Since you are awareness, there is no need to obtain or cultivate it.
All that you have to do, is to give up being aware of other things, that is, of the not-Self.
If one gives up being aware of them then pure awareness remains and that is the Self.

... so abandon the idea of incompleteness.
if you direct your mind towards the Self, fear and anxiety will go away.
keep your mind still - that is enough.

He who turns inward with untroubled mind to search where the consciousness of "I" arises, realizes the Self, and rests in Thee, Oh Arunachala! like a river when it meets the ocean.
verse 3 of "Five Stanzas to Sri Arunachala" of Sri Ramana Maharshi.
The expanding mind will attain peace, becoming still of its own accord, if it is deprived of something to hold on, just as fire gets extinguished gradually, if not fed with fuel.

to know the lightless light and the soundless sound in the Heart is the true power of yoga.

hope to be answering and commenting soon again! Sorry for my absence friends! <3
as silent knowing it is completely detached from the thinking mind, the perceiving senses, the doing body, the happy or unhappy person. Whatever you perceive is there in the field of knowing but it is not you. ....

Abandoning the outer world, with mind and breath controlled,
to meditate on Thee within, the yogi sees Thy light,
Oh Arunachala! And finds his delight in Thee.
verse 4 of "Five Stanzas to Sri Arunachala" by Sri Ramana Maharshi.
strolling through the old town on a late pleasant warm February afternoon, having the camera at hand, I had just to lift it up and take the shot. It's not surprising that he also, like so many people in Tiruvannamalai, keeps a photograph of Sri Ramana, the Maharshi. Note that no clock shows the same time!!

He who dedicates his mind to Thee and, seeing Thee, always beholds the universe as Thy figure, he who at all times glorifies Thee and loves Thee as none other than the Self, he is the master without rival, being one with Thee, Oh Arunachala, and lost in Thy bliss!
verse 5 of "Five Hymns to Arunachala" by Sri Ramana Maharshi.
Your eyes tell me
you are not the one
who suffers,
you are not the one
who has the pain,
you are boundless joy
you are the light
you are love.
I do this
to make you soft,
to make you go within
to make you mine.
Be steady in your thought of me,
don't move out of yourself,
have faith...
He who turns inward with untroubled mind to search where the consciousness of "I" arises, realizes the Self, and rests in Thee, Oh Arunachala! like a river when it meets the ocean.

sitting at my kitchen table
Kabir spoke from youtube
and you looked at me -
"when you really look for me -
you'll see me instantly!
You'll find me in the tiniest house of time!"
I should stop right there
not look for anything
other than just
TO BE -
without add-ons.

if just this moment is too loud for you,
try listening to Kabir! :-)

Apart from thoughts, there is no independent entity called the world. In deep sleep there are no thoughts, and there is no world. In the states of waking and dream, there are thoughts, and there is a world also. Just as the spider emits the thread (of the web) out of itself and again withdraws it into itself, like wise the mind projects the world out of itself and again resolves it into itself.
