Digital detox complete. I treated myself (actually it was a gift from daughter #1) to 45 minutes in a grotto-style Himalayan salt cave @skinsense_dayspa in North Raleigh. Definitely gonna need more salt therapy, lots of health benefits! Because phones emit positive ions, I couldn’t take it into the actual room. But there were lamps in the waiting areas, before it got stored away in a locker. Once you’re comfortable, they give you cold eye compresses and blankets so you can zen out. Very holistic. You’ll have to experience it for yourself. Looks like they host Salt Cave Twilight Yoga for serene sleep and you can wear your pajamas! I’m in. Negative ions have a positive effect. When I saw the bare feet on this half-man mannequin, I thought about last night’s show at DPAC with David Byrne of Talking Heads fame. What a unique musical esthetic. David and all 11 musicians (7 were percussionists), performed barefoot. It was ‘once in a lifetime’ perfection. Anyway, I wandered into @oxford_green in @Lafayettevillage to buy a gift for a friend’s birthday. The owner, Shawna is super creative with her displays. There’s even a triad vending machine full of crystals. Put in your change and turn the handle.
