Es gießt mal wieder krĂ€ftig bei uns!

Since it was raining for most of the time during my vacation, I didn't take as many photos as I had planned.

Sometimes, I was just playing around with raindrops, while taking photos from indoor ... lol

The mighty Lake St Clair is the source of a magnificent river. According to the Palawa kani tradition the name was originally timtumili minanya. When a British explorer Commodore John Hayes saw it in 1793 he named it River Derwent after the river in Cumbria. Matthew Flinders a few years later referred to it as the Derwent River on his maps.

Regardless of the name, this is a great river. It descends more than 700 metres (2,300 ft) over a distance of more than 200 kilometres (120 mi). It flows from here down through Hobart and into Storm Bay. This river system has sustained human life for more than 8,000 years as the Mouheneener people thrived by its banks. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aboriginal_Tasmanians#South_East

[If you enlarge this shot two clicks you can see the river waters "bubbling" along.]

If this isn't a luck bringing duo, then I don't know either. Promisingly bigger than a thumbnail (this year especially big, in diameter like my whole thumb!) and smaller than one. Clover is supposed to bring good luck – but I've heard that the four-leaved has a little more of it ready ... The forget-me-not in combination can only promise good things – no more time for the blues, even if the blue shines so brightly ;-)

#CrazyTuesday / #SmallerThanAThumbNail

We both enjoyed the light rain and cooling weather in the outdoor.

Happy Monday, back ... to work

it's nothing special but I wanted to share with you ...

A quick grab shot as I walked home from the grocery store and the sky just suddenly opened up with a downpour while the harsh sun light was still out.

Early in January there is a high chances of rainy weather in Porto, Portugal. In this case nothing to do on the street except a little bit of cellphone snapshoting ;)

Lockdown and rain are not a great combination.

Liebes GlĂŒck. Du hast zugeschlagen.

Closely embracing, the clover hugs the delicate forget-me-not. And reminds me of my childhood, leads me to my grandparents' garden in the country. There these little forget-me-nots grew on every corner (of course also clover), a real cottage garden. Through which I enjoyed exploring for a long time – at the very bottom, at the end of the garden, I always waited for the train, which seldom came by but often enough. Nice memories :-) It makes me float and dream ... Keep holding me tight ;-)

Halt mich weiterhin fest ;-)

#SmileOnSaturday / #FullOfMemories

Exactly five months ago, on August 14th 2022, I took a photo of this spot in the nearby nature reserve after a period of drought. You can find it - and 2 more photos of the same spot - 88 photos below this one, on the same page (the date is in the title). Or you can see its small version in Jo's comment below.

We've now had a week or more of regular showers, and you can see how quickly nature can restore itself! However, this doesn't mean that we don't have to do all we can to avoid the warming-up of the Earth.

A view south and "up" the Rhine from Duesseldorf's river promenade. The ND filter and wind-driven spray made for a natural, moody vignette.

It has been raining for the second day :(

I though I would try something different.

For Muskox Monday, I present this wet Muskox bull. During our three days on the Seward Peninsula, during August of 2021, it rained/drizzled/misted about 90 percent of the time. So I left the area with hundreds of wet Muskox images.

On the way from Evora to Lisbon in tourist bus - promised great view at Vasco da Gama bridge ;)

Thank you all for visits, faves and comments, it's greatly appreciated!

Iberian Green Woodpecker (male) clings to a mossy tree trunk in Cantabria, Spain, as the rain pours down.

It has been a boring day for the Dragon, rainy and quite cold compared to the summery temperatures we still had last week. As usual his brother Fynn enjoyed the rain but Tofu definitely isn't the kind of cat who likes to get wet. I hope I will never be forced to bathe him.

A drizzling morning at Starbucks, Cologne Central Station.

Picking up where we left off yesterday, you can see the light rain on the hills across the Tamar River. If you enlarge this photo you will find at least six birds, three in the water and three in the air.
