Al lado oriente del cordón de Ránquil, sus aguas caen al Cajón Chico que llega al río Pulul justo antes de la laguna Mariñanqui. Atrás los cerros Rahue, meseta del Colorado (o Cordón de las Lagunas) y cerro Butahuao.

Una de las joyas de los Andes, quizás la más bella laguna que me he encontrado recorriendo esta cordillera (lo pueden comprobar yendo al tag "laguna Mariñanqui"). Está muy perdida entre los montes, sólo se llega caminando o en caballos. Si se combina con el valle de Pulul, se pueden tener las mejores vacaciones de la vida.
El valle que se ve con niebla es el Biobío, adonde llegan las aguas de esta laguna a través de los ríos Pulul-Rahue. Al fondo, algo se divisa el volcán Tolhuaca.

The Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten) is a quirky creation of Phuttha Kabkaew, a student of Chalermchai Kositpipat (creator of the White Temple).
Both temples use neo-traditional Buddhist art—a blend of surrealism, pop culture, and spiritual allegory to showcase the spiritual lesson of Buddhism
The sculptures often exaggerate traditional motifs to provoke reflection. The surreal density of skulls and faces is not just decorative—it’s a visual metaphor for the human condition.
In Buddhist art, skulls often represent "anicca "(impermanence) and the inevitability of death. Their presence reminds viewers that attachment to the physical world leads to suffering and decay.
The Chaotic Faces represent Samsara (Cycle of Suffering).
- The multitude of expressive human faces—anguished, distorted, or blank—evoke the emotional turbulence of samsara, the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth driven by desire and ignorance.
To attain enlightenment is to rid yourself of the cycle of birth and death. You achieve that by being, doing good and thinking good.

Wat Rong Khun (Thai: วัดร่องขุ่น), perhaps better known to foreigners as the White Temple, is a privately owned art exhibit in the style of a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. It is owned by Chalermchai Kositpipat, who designed, constructed, and opened it to visitors in 1997.
Structures and symbolism
When completed, the white temple compound will have nine buildings, including the existing ubosot, a hall of relics, a meditation hall, an art gallery, and living quarters for monks.
The bridge of "the cycle of rebirth": the main building at the white temple, the ubosot, is reached by crossing a bridge over a small lake. In front of the bridge are hundreds of outreaching hands that symbolize unrestrained desire. The bridge proclaims that the way to happiness is by foregoing temptation, greed, and desire. Next to the lake stand two very elegant Kinnaree, half-human, half-bird creatures from Buddhist mythology.
Gate of Heaven: After crossing the bridge, the visitor arrives at the "gate of heaven", guarded by two creatures representing Death and Rahu, who decides the fate of the dead. In front of the ubosot are several meditative Buddha images.
Ubosot: The principal building, the ubosot is an all-white building with fragments of mirrored glass embedded in the building's exterior. The ubosot embodies design elements from classic Thai architecture such as the three-tiered roof and abundant use of Naga serpents. "Inside the temple, the decor swiftly moves from pristine white to fiery and bewildering. Murals depict swirling orange flames and demon faces, interspersed with Western idols such as Michael Jackson, Neo from The Matrix, Freddy Krueger, and a T-800 series Terminator. Images of nuclear warfare, terrorist attacks such as the World Trade Center attack, and oil pumps hammer home the destructive impact that humans have had on earth. The presence of Harry Potter, Superman, and Hello Kitty confuses the message somewhat, but the overall moral is clear: people are wicked."
The golden building: "A structure that stands out because of its color is the rest rooms building. Another very ornately decorated structure, this golden building represents the body, whereas the white ubosot represents the mind. The gold symbolizes how people focus on worldly desires and money. The white building represents the idea to make merit and to focus on the mind, instead of material things and possession." [Wikipedia.org]
Sri Naganathaswamy Temple or Rahu Sthalam is one of the 9 Navagraha Temples in Tamil Nadu and is associated to Lord Rahu (Raaghu Bhagvan). Sri Naganathaswamy Temple is located at Tirunageswaram, which is 7 km east of Kumbakonam on the Kumbakonam - Nannilam Road, in Thanjavur District, Tamilnadu. The main presiding deity of Thirunageswaram Rahu Temple is Lord Naganathaswamy (Lord Shiva) and his consort Giri Gujambika (Goddess Parvathi) who is enshrined with Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati by Her side. Rahu Bhagavan is seen with his two consorts Nagavalli and Nagakanni. Sri Naganathaswamy Temple is one where Lord Shiva was worshipped by Rahu (Raghu) and got relived of a curse. A unique feature of Naganatha Swamy temple is that Lord Rahu is seen with human face. While in other places, Lord Raaghu is worshipped with a serpent face.
Temple Features
Occupying a vast area, the Thirunageswaram Rahu Temple has vast prakarams, towering gopurams, and several mandapams. There are four entry towers with fort like walls which surround the outermost prakaram.
The Vinayaga temple, Balibeedam, Nandeeswarar Mandabam and Thwaja Sthambam (Flag post) are seen on the eastern gateway. Lord Ragu’s idol is placed in the south-west corner. The southern side of the temple has a water head with four Mandaps, surrounded by a 100 pillar Mandap in a temple-car style. The mandap is decorated by artistic pillars in all directions. The Dwarapalaga Sudhai work (made of Chunam clay) on each side at the entrance is an attractive feature of the temple.
There are twelve sacred water heads in this place, namely, Suriya Pushkarani, Gowthama Theertham, Parasara Theertham, Indira Theertham, Prugu Theertham, Kannuva Theertham and Vasishta Theertham. Suriya Pushkarani is inside the temple compound and is very sacred. The theertham is built in Chola style and is in square shape with 'double-bat' roofing. Legend says that the mythological serpents Aadi Seshan, Dakshan and Kaarkotakan worshipped Shiva here.
Effects of Rahu Bhagavan
Rahu Bhagwan is said to be the cause for one's good position, status, business, faithfulness, winning over opposition, to travel overseas, and for mantra power. It is believed that by doing Milk abishekam here for Rahu during Rahu kalam (period of 1 and 1/2 hours occurring every day) the delay in getting married, childlessness, trouble some married life, ill-effects of Kalasarpa Dhosha (affliction), Kalasthra Dhosha and, Sarpa Dhosha are all cured.
Special Feature
An important aspect of Rahu Temple at Thirunageswaram is that during milk abhishekam, the milk when poured over the idol, turns Blue which is clearly visible. Large numbers of devotees throng here for performing this. On every occasion of Rahu switching over to next Raasi (Rasi) which happens once in one and half years in anti-clockwise, special Abishekam with Homam is performed at Sri Arulmigu Naganathaswamy Temple. Lord Rahu is taken in procession in Sesha Vahanam.
