Spent one day whitewater rafting in the Alps down the Arve River beginning in Chamonix, France. The water was 4 degrees Celsius and jumped in the river a couple of times.
A few shots from one of the heats of the annual raft race of homemade rigs. I was at the very first raft race on the regenerated Union Canal at it's end in Edinburgh, started as just a charity and fun race and has now over the last few years turned into a community festival, still with the raft race. Been quite rewarding to see this event grow up into an annual local event of fun and people joining in, the raft race, stalls, food, local musicians and dancers playing, kids enjoying rides in the canoes and barges. Nice when something like this grows up in your local community.

The raft, site of much fun had behind Aunt Linda's house. I think there's a dog swimming towards shore in the picture, and my cousin Ryan is on the raft.
