The Racket is a writing series based in San Francisco where every month a new topic is chosen and a selected group of writers will read short stories written on that subject.

Posters are handed out at the event for the participants and attendees.

It has been a good challenge with these posters to bring in some photography and in this case, a LOT of photography. To create all the letterforms, 8 pairs of classic "celebrity" sunglasses were broken and photographed. The letters were then assembled digitally with a large heaping of retouching to remove errant reflections in the lenses.

The ALCo DL500C (FPD-7) was powering the last day of a PTG tour of Northern Spain, working from Ourense to Ponferrada with English Electric 7722 (277-022) as power for the coaches and extra dead weight! Infrastructure 321-030 had worked the previous legs from Leon to Ferrol, A Caruna San Diego, Pontevedra, Vigo and onto Ourense. 7766 would then take over (dragging 321-030) for the run back to Leon.

"Beautiful Racket was born, in the summer of 2020, out of the need for accessible creative programming for the youth of Hudson, NY. We believe accessibility means more than financial access. We are committed to eliminating barriers that have historically prevented Black and Brown people from accessing the power of self-expression, by creating a safe and empowering environment rooted in: representation in leadership and instruction; tuition-free programming for students; and competitive wages that honor the true skills of the instructors. The green racket-tail (Prioniturus luconensis) is an endemic parrot of the Philippines where it is found on Luzon and Marinduque. This species was once common,[3] but is rapidly declining and is currently classified as vulnerable due to lowland deforestation and capture for cage-bird trade.
