Had a big family BBQ at my folk's place this afternoon, the whole event was a little chaotic and loud so when the food was being loud I took a rare, quiet opportunity to grab my shot of the day.

One of my New Years resolutions, like many others, was to eat healthy. I decided to dive into the new year by giving up meat, dairy, booze and grains for at least a month.
Today we hit up Jason's Deli for lunch after our Costco run. I had the yummy salad bar while my hubby got his usual, the reuben - a real man's sandwich with tons of meat and cheese!

These great horses are racing along side our back deck, just off the bedroom, so we can enjoy seeing them! :) Though that looks like weeds, that is actually stuff I'm growing for the rabbit we kind of "inherited"- it's grown from bird seeds our parrots discard!
I am looking for more horses to add to our herd- from old spring horses to horses from swingsets. Will pick up and adopt if possible! :)
As you can see, the pre holiday push is in full swing and I'm watching my calorie intake.
So, this weeks 'About Me' theme is drawing to a close. What have we learned this week? We've learned that I'm a bit of a grump who dislikes or gets irritated at most things, that my friends have some 'interesting' thoughts about me, and that when being offered holidays by strangers I should really try my bikini on for fit before accepting!

Green food is what we have going on in We're Here! today. And we had chicken patties (no relation) with lettuce, tomato and such on buns and curly fries that tasted really like the Arby's curly fries (they were Ore Ida Zesty curly fries).
So I invaded this lettuce's privacy by taking a photo of it while it was showering.

Long day at work. "Can't be arsed" (borrowing that phrase from our friends over in Jolly Olde) to take any other shots since it's now dark, though I pondered a night shot, but it's -25C outside here in Winnipeg. And I don't feel like scaring you all with a selfie. So here's a phone shot of what I ate for dinner.

City takes one last sniff as the sun is just about ready to set. He is very interested in these two shrubs as he can smell that the wild rabbits have already started to chew on it. I am going to have to put dog exercise pens around them today if I done the rabbits will destroy them over the winter.
Obviously most of the rabbits are "pets" that the owners have released when they ceased being cute. They come in a variety of colours and sizes too - getting more and more "mixed up". People don't seem to be aware of the fact that a rabbit can bite - and quite seriously too.
this is what the freezer used to look like. we have two of them and it was disgusting. I am hoping to change the habits of my parents of storing food and never eating it.
Keepin it real. Since I'm still getting over this crazy cough, I decided to go healthy! Went out to our garden and picked some baby romaine & baby butter lettuce, and a tomato warmed by the sun! Whipped up a light vinaigrette making a perfect light lunch! The tomatoes are so sweet & the flavor amazing! Pow! Right in the kisser! Hope you had a great Tuesday! Don't get sick! 33sakura: @lo0vebug lol! I guess I'm taking liberties calling it a garden! They're all in pots, but it works well in our yard! That's why it's baby lettuces! Haha! But, yeah, it is great! We just have to run outside for lettuce for sandwiches or tacos, etc! We also have green beans & little zucchinis so far!

But it works well for us! I have lettuce like gangbusters! And this year our tomatoes are doing well! I'll try to post pix! Thanks!
At a raw vegan cafe, they make "noodles" out of shredded zucchini (because you can't cook 'em) and the sauce out of watery nut butter (cause you can't add cream).
Had hoped flavour would be an add-on. Couldn't find it on the menu.

14/365: This one's for the BLU folks. :) 3 bales of timothy and 2 bales of orchard grass that I got from Winterbrook Farm in Thurmont, MD today. This will probably last the 3 bunnies through next June. This was the first time I've gotten hay from this particular farm and they also had brome grass hay. I'd never seen that before, but when I looked it up when I got home, I see that rabbits can eat it. It looked pretty green and tender, so now I want to get a bale of that to try.
