Sandys in Twickenham is the best fishmonger bar none. Its stock of marine and freshwater life – not to mention its cheeses and game – is beyond compare, and at Christmas it really comes into its own.
On Christmas Eve, Sandys opens at 7.30am. People come from miles around for its fresh fish, and this was the queue this morning just after 8am. As the day progressed, so the line lengthened.
And yes, that’s me, waiting patiently in line for a dozen fresh oysters and a couple of beautifully firm sea bream. I queued for probably an hour and a half, but I know the wait will be worth it: oysters and champagne with Liang on Christmas Day followed by a brace of partridges; then sea bream on the 26th. Oh, and somewhere along the way, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, of course!
Happy, happy Christmas to all my Flickr friends and followers. See you in the new decade!

There is an International Street Market in Cheltenham this week-end. Little China was one of the few stalls with a queue!
I was attracted by the colours of the stall and the hair of the lady in the centre!

A snap shot from my last trip to Kuttanadu, taken from a moving boat. The setting sun added this golden hue to the eastern sky, simply breathtaking... blue waters, green shores and the wonderful sky beyond... from my N73 stash...

Sony NEX 5N + Canon FD 50mm f/1.8@1.8.
This lens is superb, super sharp and almost zero CA wide open. The Bokehs are pretty hard though, something Canon've improved with the FD 1.4. This is still a great lens nevertheless, a great lens for beginners, learners, MF enthusiasts and people looking for a good budget lens.
I'm busy and will be on a hiatus till Friday. Thank you for visiting.
