So Exciting!! Miss Cecily of Tucson's Arizona Ballet Theatre presents Ballet Dancer David Hallberg With A Rose Bouquet.

This photo shows Miss Cecily of Tucson's Arizona Ballet Theatre presenting a Rose Bouquet to David Hallberg.

Cecily Bressel is the founder (tenth anniversary) and artistic director of Tucson's Arizona Ballet Theatre.

David Halberg answered questions after a screening of Acts II and III of his debut performance at the Bolshoi in Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty.

My thoughts are below...

As Miss Cecily wrote on Arizona Ballet Theatre's Facebook page today:

"What an amazing event for Tucson Dance - the reigning prince in The Ballet World, who trained in Phoenix, Arizona - the elegant, David Hallberg - came to The Loft on Saturday, March 16th, at 5 pm - for a Screening of the 2nd & 3rd Acts of the recent production of The Sleeping Beauty in which he starred AND a Q & A Session beautifully moderated, during which he answered many questions about his amazing career in Classical Ballet.

He took questions from the audience; both Norman and I asked a few, as well as many others from the enraptured audience. A great time was had by all....what a lovely way to spend a Saturday Evening. Perfection.

Today's Picture captures a special moment after the Q & A where Jessie, Waris and Alice (and I proudly watching) had a little Arizona Ballet Theatre moment with the Superstar. Those white roses were from Arizona Ballet Theatre via me:) Everyone knows that I feel Ballet and Flowers for all performers ABSOLUTELY go together, better than anything:) Hence, our flower ceremony at the end of every Arizona Ballet Theatre Performance...I feel, every Ballet Dancer should always be near flowers when possible and appropriate. Every Princess and Prince should have a beautiful flower after every performance:) It is nice. Elegant. Wonderful.

I am so proud to proclaim that Our Studio was well represented at this amazing and wonderful local event! Thank you, Arizona Ballet Theatre dancers:) Great job! You have very good priorities:)

Thanks to The Loft for conceiving this unusual and engaging DANCE event:) I found out on Saturday night that TUCSON was the only location to host such an event! Thank you Thank you The Loft! You are amazing:)"

My Thoughts:

It was fantastic!! Very exciting... It felt strange not moving around the theater and taking photos of the action and of the event...;))

I want to thank Miss Cecily for taking me as her guest to the private party in The Loft's Auditorium 3. It was great fun!! I loved meeting David's parents. Such nice people and so proud of their son. The excitement of the performances , the glory of the Bolshoi's theater, and mingling with one of the truly great ballet dancers of our time, after a performance, all reminded me of our opening night subscription for many years at The Boston Ballet. Performances were held in Boston's famous and trés elegant Wang Center with champagne intermissions and parties afterward. The only difference was I was not in a Tux, and Miss Cecily was not in a gown...

Hmmm. I would need to lose about thirty more pounds to fit into my tux!!! That is a great motivational goal!!! I would really love that...

And, it's wonderful to have a beautiful woman on your arm wearing a gorgeous gown... It is so romantic...;))

I realized that night how much I miss those elegant, exciting, and fun nights at the Boston Ballet in the eighties and nineties. My special thanks to Tucson's fabulous Loft Cinema for recreating so much of that!! Thanks for the memories and also for the vibrant, exciting present!!

This design was for an intimate chat in front of three thousand people. The question and anwer format lent itself to a less formal setting.

The blending of elements in this photo created a unique setting which made a departure from the standard stage layout at this lecture series event.
