Some years back I asked if there would be a 'Kill Bill 3'.

It seems now Quentin Tarantino said recently why not allegedly asked at the Rome Film Festival in October.

Though I still haven't been offered a part in the movie.....I could easily fit into one of them skin tight yellow suits.....Or a nurses outfit......Lol

I'm a fan of Quentin Tarantino's films and their soundtracks. I'm also a fan of snakes (symbol of pharmacies they have venom and anti-venom). This is the song I call my cats with.

The necklace I'm wearing was a gift I loved, from a very special person. ♥

On RogueBricks we're currently running a Quentin Tarantino movie contest. Usually I never get around taking part in those but this time I just had to submit something.

The Hateful Eight is a lengthy but great western that has but two locations: Minnie's Haberdashery and – if you want to call it that – the dark red stagecoach that is on it's way to said establishment.

The latter is something I had thought about building for a long while so it was important to me to capture both it's shape as well as the horses pulling it in the best possible way. The result is a very different way of creating the rounded shapes of the stagecoach but something I'm quite happy with. And: It even seats two minifigures!

In this scene Major Warren is forced to dispose of his guns in order to step closer to the carriage that will save him from the incoming blizzard and eventually bring him to Minnie's Haberdashery.

Let me know what you think of it!

(Fun fact: The image's aspect ratio is the same in which the film was shot ;) )

Stuntman Mike is in town.

The Vista has been one of the great single screen theatres in Los Angeles and showed first run movies.

The Vista was opened in Oct of 1923 as the Bard Hollywood Theatre and was designed by noted theatre designer Lewis A. Smith in a Spanish Renaissance style for the exterior and the interior in an Egyptian style which is amazing. The Vista had a re-vamped sound system and every other row of seats removed for plenty of leg room for a better viewing experienced. The Vista closed during the pandemic like all theatres and when it could open up the theater owner struggled to open it again so it sat empty. Then in July of 2021 Quentin Tarantino stepped up and bought the Vista. He then embarked on a complete renovation of the interior and exterior of the theatre and on Nov. 11th he held a special screening of the film ‘True Romance’ in 35mm. The grand opening to the public was held on Nov. 17th with Eli Roth’s ‘Thanksgiving’ also in 35mm which will be something that Tarantino will do at this theatre exclusively projecting movies on film. Very few of these single screen theatres survive so huge props to Quentin Tarantino for preserving this landmark and making it available to all of us to enjoy.

As much as it annoys me, I eventually had to give up the curved sides as the side needed to get skinnier - they actually went on the belly, just so I can keep some sense of roundness. I've also changed the rear wheels - same size, but less tire and more rim - and added some details here and there. I guess it's the last WIP shot on this one.

Tomorrow night, in a titanic battle for roller derby supremacy, sailors will meet soldiers on the flat track. Until then, we're playing with our food.

I found this as difficult as last year's Halloween-ish theme. While I really like a good scary movie, I do not have any real "Halloween" props, so I decided to illustrate the legend of "The White Lady", a ghost, all dressed in white, who is said to haunt the Grunewald Hunting Château, the Spandau Citadel, and, when it still existed, the Berlin Palace. "White Lady" legends, however, are known all around the world, and are usually associated with some kind of tragedy, or, in case of the "White Lady" from Berlin, some kind of injustice.

When I was done, however, the capture reminded me more of a scene from the movie "From Dusk Till Dawn". "My Wife"

( www.youtube.com/watch?v=73PRaUTVcbo ) by The Who also came to my mind.

I guess I'll leave it open to your interpretation ;-)

When Alicia , aka Slightly Lively issued my Get Pushed challenge, there was only one choice for me to make. I remember when I first saw Reservoir Dogs in 1993. The opening scene had me hooked. Who was this director that could make eight guys walking down the street epic? I became an immediate Quentin Tarantino fan. Reservoir Dogs is not a film for the squeamish. During a screening of Reservoir Dogs in Barcelona, fifteen people walked out, including horror film director Wes Craven and special effects artist Rick Baker. Baker later told Tarantino to take the walk out as a "compliment" and explained that he found the violence unnerving because of its heightened sense of realism.

Alicia had challenged me to reproduce a scene from my favorite movie. Reservoir Dogs has many memorable scenes, but the one I chose was the iconic scene in the warehouse, of the Mexican standoff between Mr. White and Mr. Pink. I didn't have the wooden chairs or the galvanized trash can that the original scene contained, nor the blue wall. But they are not that importrant. I tried to replicate that light and the attitude as best I could.

Thanks for the challenge Alicia, I had been wanting to do a homage to my favorite film for some time. This was the perfect opportunity!

My latest shot of The Vista, opened 1923, historic single-screen movie theater in Los Feliz on the border with East Hollywood. Director Quentin Tarantino acquired the theater in 2021, had it refurbished, and re-opened it in November of 2023.

Historic note: The extravagant "Walls of Babylon" scenes from (gifted director & rancid racist) D. W. Griffith's 1916 silent epic 'Intolerance' were filmed on this open site before the theater was constructed.

I picked up O-ren Ishii (Cottonmouth) while exploring Cali this afternoon. I went into a really great comic shop expecting to get Gogo and ended up leaving with O-ren instead. The Gogo in stock had too many flaws. Booo!

But I'm so happy with Cottonmouth. She and Gogo are my favorite Kill Bill characters. And the scenery at my hotel couldn't be more perfect for her. The glassy table reminds me of ice, just like the last scene in Volume I.
