Circular Quay is the hub of Sydney Harbour, situated at a small inlet called Sydney Cove, the founding site for Sydney and Australia. It is a stepping-off point for most attractions based around the harbour and an exciting place to be on a warm summer's day.The quay is a vibrant, bustling place with ferries leaving every few minutes to different parts of the harbour, including Manly, Watson Bay, Mosman and Taronga Park Zoo.

Apartments on the left and the Lowery car park park on the right at Salford Quays. Overly aggressive swans prevented me getting to close to the waters edge, so I was hoping the paved area and railings added some foreground interest!

Sign located along the River Tyne in Newcastle. A Quay is a wharf or bank where ships and other vessels are loaded. Sailors and Seamen could also purchase goods at the Quay that may be needed for their long sea journey.

Maldon's Hythe Quay is the residence of a number of Thames sailing barges, these are among the last cargo vessels in the world still operating under sail, albeit now used in the spheres of education and leisure. Some ten to fifteen of the surviving fleet count Maldon as their home port, and many others are regular visitors alongside at the Quay.

Salford Quays is an area of Salford, Greater Manchester, near the end of the Manchester Ship Canal. Previously the site of Manchester Docks, it became one of the first and largest urban regeneration projects in the United Kingdom following the closure of the dockyards in 1982.
