Lone scarlet quartet,

wet from a cold winter rain.

Glows in my mind’s eye.

Solche bunten Fachwerkhäuser hatte ich bisher noch nicht gesehen. Eine beeindruckende Altstadt, leider hatten wir nur einen Übernachtungsstopp hier in Troyes.

You can see various multi-coloured half-timbered houses here in Troyes, I didn't see such before. Unfortunately we had only a stopp for one night here in this awesome old city.

Thank you to all for the views, comments and faves

"The four figures on the pilasters of the attic of the Vienna Ring Theater, the so-called "Singing Quartet" (soprano, alto, tenor, bass), survived the fire of the Ring Theater on December 8, 1881 by over 100 years and now stand as figurines in the front park area. They were placed on the theater by the architect Emil von Förster in 1874 and were acquired by Max Schmidt after the fire and moved to the park."

Now the series can be seen as a whole. In fact it must be to make sense of my approach. Every individual photo had a specific interpretation in mind - usually given away by the title.

I just happened to be taking photos of the cows here at home today when this gal looked as though she was going to belt out a tune.

I used Pixlr-o- matic to complete the quartet. :-)

We were having a coffee on a patio in Tofino, no singing involved but it was fun to feed the birds.

Holywell is a Saxon ring village, one of only three in Cambridgeshire. It is served by a small road from Needingworth and is a dead end to motor traffic. There are approximately 80 houses, the oldest dating to the 16th century; a parish church; and a public house.
