Lonely swing. This photo fits together with a lot of the other qualities I have because the swing seems so unnatural. There's an abundance of bushes that have been turned into a odd color, and the grass beneath the swing has been flattened. For some reason when I was taking this photo, I was thinking about The Secret Garden, as well as Narnia, and the Garden of Eden. I wanted to try to recreate something that resembled at least one of these mysterious gardens, with a lonely unnatural swing, off-colored grasses and bushes, and a harsh lighting in the middle of the photo. The viewer should hopefully make some sort of connection to a garden, as I did.

This is the most elaborate of all the motorized pieces I've done thus far. There was a lot of metal to cut, and the dial was more involved. The screws around the rim of the dial are so tightly inlaid that before I varied the color, they blended right in. In addition, I disassembled the motor and replaced the center pin with a nice solid brass one. This allowed me to more securely fasten the long custom hands I like to use.
