This lovely lady is a Stimsons Python Antaresia stimsoni. The Stimsons python is a relatively small python in comparison with other Australian python species.
The Stimsons natural distribution range would probably be the largest distribution range of any Australian python. Within this huge distribution range there are several recognized morphs. These morphs were probably the result of environmental differences e.g. habitat, prey and climate differences, over thousands of years.
Generally speaking the Stimsons python is well suited as a captive pet. The temperament of these pythons is quite placid and besides the odd exception they are normally amendable to handling.
Roxanne belongs to the neighbours across the road from my parents. Trev has had her for about 12 years now and in that time she has grown quite a bit!
Asiatic rock python (Python molurus) curled on a rock on log at the river's edge in Bardia National Park, Nepal
When we got back from our boat tour there were two pythons sunning themselves on the rocks next to where our cars were parked. I am not sure but I am guessing that this one was about 10-12 feet long!

This guy was hiding out of the rain in a rock face next to a bushwalking trail. I didn't get too close - this image is cropped.

Reaching high in the tree the python vine looks like it is about to strangle the tree. Yet coming back months lager the tree does not appear to be any the less for wear having hosted the vine for a number of months or years.

nextgen hack
A quick view of the
* settings.py config file
* 404.html template
* index.html template
* urls.py file
* details.html template
Forget the style, correctness & concentrate on the patterns of config, templates and url to code mapping. Its a hack. Most important to me is gettting the thing to work, scrapping it so I can write a better version. Does not mean I have not written a spec though.
