A sunset landscape taken in Pushkar, Rajasthan, India. Taken with a Canon 5D4 and a 50mm 1.4 lens, edited in Lightroom.

Pushkar is a town bordering the Thar Desert, in the northeastern Indian state of Rajasthan. It's set on Pushkar Lake, a sacred Hindu site with 52 ghats (stone staircases) where pilgrims bathe.

this scene remained etched in my mind for 35 years: this Sadhu praying in one of Pushkar gaths

He douses himself with ashes, prays, and finally purifies body and soul in the sacred lake

Púshkar, Rajasthan (India)

Pushkar is one of the holiest places in India. It's beauty is unparalleled to anything I saw in India last august. People know more about Varanasi and ganges river but this place it's just pure India, by far my favorite city of India.

These lads were grooming camels to look their best in the hope of a sale at the Pushkar Fair. I suspect their attention was divided between the ‘animal welfare’ work and spotting passing tourists who topped up their earnings with a few rupees for a photo - a transaction that totally bypassed the camels!
