Five buttons means this car has the three-speed TorqueFlite; some had the cheaper two-speed PowerFlite instead. There is no Park position, which TorqueFlite didn't get until the early sixties. (At this time, Chrysler's sudden-death transmission-shaft parking brake rendered it superfluous.)
1931 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A Landaulet Imperiale by Castagna
$368,000 USD | Sold
From Sotheby's:
Extensively documented by marque historian Jonathan Sierakowski, Isotta Fraschini chassis number 1628 was mounted with this handsome formal body, known usually as a Landaulet Imperiale but identified in American parlance on its original bill of sale from Isotta Motors of New York City as an “All-weather Landaulet Limousine.” The sale was made on 17 March 1931 to Mrs. Jean Boalt Chambers of 1175 Park Avenue, who traded in her previous Tipo 8A on the transaction.
Jean Boalt had served as a reporter for the New York Herald during the 1920s, and later was a freelance writer with several radio scripts to her credit. In 1928 she had wed Robert A. Chambers, the great-grandson of sewing machine inventor Isaac Merritt Singer, and himself a prominent New York attorney and civic leader. Together they won many honors at horse shows with hunters from their Long Island estate, Katonah’s Wood. A wonderful period photograph survives, showing this Isotta Fraschini at one such event in Southampton.
In 1948, the Tipo 8A was sold through Gordon Ayre to the enthusiastic early collector, D. Cameron Peck of Chicago, for $250; the Peck Car Record, now held by the Detroit Public Library, identifies the seller as “Jean B. Chambers, Katonah, N.Y.,” and records the car as chassis and engine number 1628. Mr. Peck subsequently sold the Isotta to J.A. Reitzel of Evanston, Illinois. From 1954 until at least 1961, the car was the property of one J. Gross; later owners were Robert J. Fitzpatrick of Toronto, Ontario, noted in the May-June 1976 issue of Antique Automobile, and the noted collectors, Dr. Irwin Ginsberg of Buffalo, New York, and Richard and Linda Kughn of Detroit. In 1991 the car was shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, winning 3rd in Class and the Charles Chayne Memorial Trophy for Most Significant Engineering Achievement.
The older restoration remains utterly splendid, showing little of its age, with all finishes presenting strongly both inside and out. Unusually light-handed for a restoration of its generation, it retains much of its original body woodwork, stamped with the Castagna body number, as well as the elaborately detailed hardware characteristic of that coachbuilder. Wonderful touches include a jewel box concealed under the rear seat floorboards, and a marvelous system by which the passengers direct the chauffeur by pushbuttons which light segments of a wheel on the dashboard, instructing “Left,” “Right,” “Quick,” “Slow,” “Stop,” “Turn Around,” or “Go Home.” Even the hood retains its numbered locks, and the hinge is stamped “1628.”
This is a most extraordinary formal Isotta Fraschini, visually impactful and radiating superb good taste.

**Note** Now that I've run a couple of rolls of film through this baby, any questions/pleas for knowledge below can be safely disregarded.
My cousin Ann generously gave me her father's camera while I was with the family for Thanksgiving. (My dad also gave me two of his mom's cameras - I'll post grandma's tomorrow). Can you believe this? It's a very unique pushbutton zoom to the lens, and I really can't wait to try it out.
I just need the manual. Or a good idea of where to put the battery. And a battery.

An old rotary telephone dial wheel.
The end of the era for rotary dial phones was in the 1960's when the touch tone push button phones started replacing the rotary dial phones. There were no ring tone choices or volume settings on a phone of this type. The ringer has an internal brass bell that is quite loud.
Post 1969 LHD model with hidden door hinges, quarter lights (vent windows), bright surrounds (trim) around the windows, pushbutton door handles, rear turn signals with integrated backup lights. Grille looks like black plastic and badge might say Mini Cooper 1300 (without a border for the "1300"), but no bonnet or wing badges. A de-badged 1972-1976 Innocenti? Front wheels don't match. Finisher is broken off at front wheel arch. Black roof or resprayed? [SRT-010-13]

From a press deadline well before the 1980 Photokina show, here are some items expected to appear.
The Alpa Si 3000 is another odd rebadge from the Swiss company—in fact, it's just the Chinon CE-4 again! This is even as the CE-4 is expected to be updated as the CE-5.
There are two models from Cosina:
The Cosina Computer CT-7 is a fully pushbutton-driven, electronic-shutter SLR. This made a negligible impact in the market.
The stripped-down, mechanical shutter Cosina CT-1A with a simple 3-LED meter display would have shocking longevity, revised and rebranded under a plethora of manufacturer's names.
Also noted are the rumblings anticipating autofocus SLRs, which at this point were considered almost too difficult an engineering challenge to solve.
Located on the junction of Wandana Ave & North-East Road in Holden Hill, this one does make sound like the newer versions.

Main code for the Enterprise Deflector and Torpedo effects is now complete.
Tweaks to the timings and/or deflector colours are still possible.
For anyone stumbling over this video by accident, its an Arduino Uno (ATMega328) powered led effects unit to enable fade up/down of a modelled USS Enterprise's deflector dish to emulate the screen model during supposed transition to and from warp drive, and also photon torpedo firing.
Each effect is driven independently from two pushbuttons.

For anyone who is interested, I've posted the Arduino code I came up with on my blog:

Originally I had a grandiose scheme to earth ground my NAC by adding a plug socket in the rear panel. But honestly there isn't really room to do it(inside things pretty well cover the panel).
So I just removed the old 2 prong plug. Then I cut the end of a nice 3 prong IEC cable, crimped on ring terminals, and wired that in place of older cable The only difference being I now wired the earth ground line from the plug to the earth ground terminal.
Mine was missing the silly enviro/bio plug on the rear of the panel. But I just inserted a 30mm pushbutton hole plug since it is the same size.
