I hate purity,
Hate goodness,
I don't want virtue to exist anywhere,
I want everyone corrupt

Water lilies are an important religious symbol in the Hindu and Buddhist traditions. ... Buddhists regard the water lily as a symbol of enlightenment because of the beautiful bloom that emerges from the mud. They also consider the water lily a symbol of purity, spontaneous generation and divine birth.

"La vera bontà dell'uomo si può manifestare in tutta purezza e libertà solo nei confronti di chi non rappresenta alcuna forza."
(Milan Kundera, L'insostenibile leggerezza dell'essere, 1984)
It is a custom to cleanse your hands and mouth prior to praying at Japanese temples.
At the purification fountain near the shrine's entrance, take one of the ladles provided, fill it with fresh water and rinse both hands. Then transfer some water into your cupped hand, rinse your mouth and spit the water beside the fountain.
You are not supposed to transfer the water directly from the ladle into your mouth or swallow the water. You will notice that quite a few visitors skip the mouth rinsing part or the purification ritual altogether.

TGIF.. Have a fantastic week end.. thanks for any comments left..
8:52 am on December 29, 2010. A very cold morning, off from work and wonderful light. Nearly freezing vital body parts off ;-), but I just had to head out and stomp around the neighborhood. I believe it was worth freezing, wasn't it? Am still waiting for a day like that this winter.
No filters or anything added, just the converted .raw-file.
Far better in large.

The Christmas Rose represents purity.
The penitent walks in a guilty sinner,
and out with their purity restored.
We got some rain this morning and overnight so of course I had to run outside to try and get some reflections in the droplets! I love the white of this one!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend.

Nature. Pure energy. Changing shapes. Inspiring imagination. Eternally. The sun behind the clouds. Light and magic...
Maybe a cliche, but always a surprise to my eye and heart. The only true thing in this world that has never changed so far. Through billions of years.
I fear for the future though; so I'll keep shooting as much as I can. Every little detail that makes a difference. So we can all remember what once was!
It seems as if the only things that can out-live human kind "evolution" are the things we cannot put our fingers on. Greece is suffering from arson. BIG TIME! Shame...
