3 photos, each 5 exposures (3 was enough though really) Panoramic.

This is around the headland of Killcare Beach, Central Coast, NSW, Australia.

It's actually quite tricky to get to due to some massive rocks to climb over. I packed my camera gear and tripod up twice during the time on this headland due to not wanting to risk any dropping of any gear, except for me.

This spot wasn't too bad, even had a seat. Further on if I get around to doing any of them, I was standing on extremely slippery black rock.

“There's a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they're absolutely free. Don't miss so many of them.”

― Jo Walton

Carl's opening line and John Westrock's postings of quotes with his superb images on his photostream reminded me of one I read earlier today so I thought I was try one out for size.

This image took me a while and was a pain in the butt to finalize. Not for the fact that it was 11 portrait images wide and 3 exposures per image. It was the fact that I took many of each frame to try and time the waves with the next shot.

Knowing from previous ocean shots when I'm not smoothing the water out hugely with the help of long exposures, waves have to match up with the next shot and this I have found takes practice. But I also don't have all the time in the world due to light changing rapidly and the sky clouds shifting.

Attempting to sift through them all and getting shots that the waves blended with the next image was a nightmare. I tried many combinations and finally found a combination that worked... I think....

Perhaps I should just stick to some non panoramic shots for a while....

Taken down at North Avoca, Central Coast, NSW, Australia.

5 images, 3 exposures, Kenko ND 1-1000 Filter

Was a rough morning due to it being high tide. The seaspray was quite bad. Earlier I was around the cliff edges but had to retreat a few times to clean my filter.

This is one of the last set of images I took this morning before the sun lost its glow. I chose this set of images due to the calm pool of water about to become chaotic by the charging water.

With the Kenko filter, I was able to use slower shutter speeds during this type of lighting. Fun

Taken at Somersby Falls, Brisbane Waters National Park, Central Coast, NSW, Australia, Earth.

13 Portrait Image Panoramic

Each image 7 exposures

These falls are at the lower part of Somersby Falls. It's a bit off the beaten path as not many come down this far or even know its here, but worth the effort. My mother sat on that rocks for it must have been about 15 minutes, as solid as the rock itself. She did wonderfully. It was thought best to have a human element in it to give an idea of the size of the area.

I took and processed another like this a couple of weeks ago but didn't post it as it was quite sunny that day and made the green areas look all muddy. Wasn't happy with the overall image.

This one took quite some time as the wind kept dropping and picking up and moving the branches. As soon as I noticed the tree moving, I retook the pictures. Each picture took a bit over 48 seconds as I was taking 7 exposures. The longest being 30 seconds.

One of the shots took 4 times as not only did the trees move... the Sun came out as well and totally threw off the constant exposure I had set. Thankfully... the sun went away and the wind blew off and I was free to continue.

After many many MANY days of clear blue skies, Sydney and surrounds finally got a drenching and the landscapers come out in droves to capture the local falls. Speaking of, nice to meet you Puresilk Images. Looks like you pulled some great shots out of the day.

7 Image Panorama. Each image 5 exposures longest being 30 seconds, shortest being 0.8 seconds.

Was a beautiful morning but was hoping for more rocks in the water to be exposed. I took another panoramic here the other week where it showed more rock so I went back to get more of the beach covered but it was a higher tide this time.

A 365 Reject for Day 2.194. It's a fun picture, but the composition isn't quite right, the focus certainly isn't and it didn't convert to black and white.

The village is the oldest continuous settlement in the City of Lake Macquarie.

The settlement was first made on 1 April 1865. The town of Cowper was created, to serve as a base for coal mining when it was discovered here in 1873.

Approximately 1000 tons of coal a week was taken by horse-drawn skips from the mine to a loading chute on the jetty.

The name Catherine Hill was adopted to commemorate the schooner Catherine Hill that had run aground in 1867.

Since the almost last 100 years the coal mines where opened and closed many times and finally ceased all operations back in 2004

Mid October this year, a huge bushfire that burned more than 1500 hectares, also engulfed the historic Wallarah House which was built in 1887 and parts of the Jetty were also burnt down.

Brad O'Brien took some amazing images 2 days afterwards of the burning Jetty as the stumps still burnt hot.

Straight forward Panoramic of Catherine Hill Bay.

14 Portrait Images, each with 5 exposures. (3 would have done thou)

I first did this one as a black and white. Due to a boring cloudless sunrise I figured the b&w was the better choice but after much playing around, I ended up not liking it. So I went a more realistic color representation of what I saw the morning of taking. I'll have to head back here one day and try my luck at a more dramatic sunrise.

BTW the top of the jetty looks warped but it's actually like this. I debated for a bit on whether to fix it all and polish it up a bit but decided to leave it as it's really the personality of the old beaten up and abused Jetty.

7 portrait photo Panoramic

each image 3 exposures.

Used so many pictures to get the angles and sizes right and thankfully it stiched together nicely.

So happy with the rotating screen on the 70d. I had the camera right up against the wall of the cave to get this picture. So I was able to frame each shot while looking the opposite way.

Now I just need a tripod that's actually built to handle the weight correctly of my camera and lens. Had so many shots when I viewed them, they showed the camera drifting down.
