Of all the spots we visited at the Grand Teton National Park, this spot was one of our absolute favorites.
We purchased a box of wild flower seeds from a local supermarket thinking they were English wildflowers but they seem to be from the USA with what's grown and flowered over the past few weeks. At the moment Cornflowers seem to be out the most and in a variety of different colours from the normal blue colour we are used to seeing.
These are all taken in one of our wildflower sections of the garden.
Yesterday purchasing the water lilies I also got 2 huge
Oriental Poppy plants, when I plant seeds somehow never make it to the size I want and they die to fast, trick is not overwatering and light soil.

50 years ago I purchased this unusually bound book which, despite its sorry state. I estimated to be fairly old. The rigid cover made of leather overlaying wood veneer was unique in my mind. My research led me to find out that binding techniques changed in the 1600s with use of layers of paper, instead of wood veneer, overlaid with leather. This book however did not fit the story. Further research led me to the Princeton Theological Commons digital library which showed the Psalm book by Isaac Watts, 1674-1748, having been published originally in 1719 in London.
As it was used extensively by religious services attendees, the cover was made of wood with leather overlay to prevent destruction from use.

The book was republished several times in the 1700s and 1800s with digitized copies in the Internet Archive of the Library.
It is a former estate garden featuring annuals, roses and wildflowers and an extensive rockery. It is located on Wilket Creek, one of the tributaries of the Don River West Branch. The estate's title was once held by Alexander Milne, a Scottish weaver who settled here after the War of 1812 and left in 1832. The land and the woolen/saw mills was obtained by Rupert E. Edwards in 1944 and created his country home. Edwards home was left in neglect and was purchased by the Municipality of Metro Toronto in 1955 and became Edwards Gardens in 1956. 238
The site for the cathedral was purchased in 1905. A. O. Von Herbulis of Washington, D.C., was commissioned as the architect. Von Herbulis was trained abroad and was chosen for his knowledge of the cathedrals of Europe. Rough sketches were prepared in two styles, Romanesque and Gothic. When the drawings were presented, the Building Committee chose the Gothic form; a motion to authorize that design passed unanimously. Von Herbulis was studying in Vienna, Austria, when the Votive Church was built there. He modelled the Cathedral after the Votivkirche.
The Columbia Construction Company of New York began construction of the Cathedral in 1908; the cornerstone was laid on October 4 that year. On November 8, 1914, the Catholic community of Helena gathered to celebrate Mass for the first time in the new church. The first funeral held in the Cathedral was that of Thomas Cruse, a benefactor, December 26, 1914. The Cathedral was not completed for another 10 years. In June 1924, the Cathedral was consecrated.

I recently purchased a glass ball, and have been itching to experiment with it. I wanted to take a picture of it on black and somehow light it up so that the sphere would be lit, but not the black background. I tried a bunch of different things, and ended up circling it with a string of Christmas lights so that it would capture the reflections, but not the lights.

There is not enough information about the publisher on the backside of the postcard, except some mentions of the place and a print as follows: "1217 B.R.B. 3.10.1939." For this reason, I assume, the image is from 1939. The name of place is noted as:

I recently purchased one of the Lee Big Stopper ND filters and the necessary gubbins to fit it onto my Olympus zoom lens. I thought I'd try it out with a river shot looking towards the towers of Vauxhall and Nine Elms, of which there are quite a few these days. The colour raw files were quite blue which apparently is what to expect from the Lee Big Stopper but the nice thing about blue is that when converting to B&W it can be controlled very easily.
I brought my camera with me while shopping at Mahoney's Garden Center today, and snapped some photos inside their refrigerated display case. this is an anemone.

The 470 Club recently purchased former B&M GP9 1741 (later Guilford Rail 72.) The unit was purchased by Heber Valley Railroad along with the 77 and 52, but they didn't have interest in moving 72 after the other two left. A deal was then hashed out between the Heber Valley and the 470 Club to bring 72 home, and today that finally happened. The unit has been stored at Ed Jeffrey's shop in North Stratford, NH for the last few months and was delivered to Hazens this past week for the final leg of the trip. B&M F7A 4268 is in the final stages of restoration and once the F's are brought up to par, work will commence on the 1741, eventually being restored to the as-delivered bluebird scheme. This unit is one of 5 remaining B&M GP9's (originally a 50 unit order) and will be a great addition to the 470 fleet. As always the club needs funds to purchase parts, this unit at the minimum will need four traction motors and batteries. Any donations are welcome and would help to get the unit back on the road as soon as possible.

This little series of mono conversions originally filled, for me, the gap in portraiture made by lockdown and I have found it interesting to continue with it.
Brother Andrew was living at The Hospital of St Cross and Almshouse of Noble Poverty when I first met him. I took his photo in The Hundred Men's Hall where a midday meal used to be provided for 100 poor men at the gate of the almshouse.
Now, in the summer months, tea and cake are available for visitors to purchase. At one point, Brother Andrew used to rise early to bake the cakes for sale.

Having just purchased the Nikon Z100-400 S lens, I was desperate to try it, so I nipped out to nearby Plover Scar last night.
I knew that the tide would be pretty high at sunset, with high tide at 10pm, so that would give me a chance to isolate the diminutive Lighthouse with the setting sun behind.
The only trouble was the sky was pretty clear. Anyway, when I got there I could see that there was a hazy bank of cloud on the distant horizon which would diffuse the harsh setting sun at sunset. So that was good news!
The other good thing was that I could see that there was a sizeable group of Togs down on the shore, something I've never seen before here. It was either a Camera Club outing or a workshop. But now armed with this new telephoto, I had no intention of getting anywhere near the shoreline or that group!
So I set up the tripod and took this from the sea wall. This was exactly the shot I had in mind and the clouds really diffused the light and it also created this orange/golden glow. Believe it or not I have actually desaturated this a little from the original RAW file.
Anyway, my expensive purchase certainly lived up to its billing! I look forward to plenty more long lens work!
I purchased this gorgeous, variegated hydrangea blossom, one that I had never seen before. I'm hoping to plant it in my garden, if the soil ever thaws!!!
I had only recently purchased some narrow-band filters and was keen to give them a test run; for this, I chose NGC281. The aim was initially to capture data in LRGB along with Ha, OIII, and SII; the telescope and weather had other plans. I hadn’t looked at the data since the initial night, and using a process in Pixinsight inspired by Cuiv’s recent mastering Pixinsight YouTube video, I was able to bring together this HOO image of the nebula; it is a target that I plan to revisit this winter to capture more Ha and OIII, along with LRGB and SII data.
NGC 281, IC 11 or Sh2-184 is a bright emission nebula and part of an HII region in the northern constellation of Cassiopeia and is part of the Milky Way’s Perseus arm. This 20×30 -sized nebulosity is also associated with open cluster IC 1590, several Bok globules and the multiple star B 1. It collectively forms Sh2-184,[3]spanning over a larger area of 40 arcmin.[4] A recent distance from radio parallaxes of water masers at 22Ghz in 2014 is estimated to be 2.82±0.20 kpc. Information notice on the clocktower
This clock was purchased by public subscription in 1890 and erected on a building since demolished to honour the 80th birthday of Thomas Cramp (1810- 1891) an influential local public man and teetotal pioneer. It was re-erected on this purpose-built tower in 1955 at the expense of Mr Sidney Betchley and Mr L.W. E. Dungey and restored in 2000 thanks to an anonymous benefactor in co-operation with East Grinstead Town Council
The CPR purchased 3 E8-A's as their contribution for the joint operation of The Alouette and The Red Wing between Montreal and Boston via the B&M's Northern IIRC. When these trains were replaced by RDC's they continued to work in local service out of Montreal quite frequently on the trains to Ottawa Quebec City. The 1801 was involved in an accident on the Quebec City and was scrapped in the mid 60's. The remaining 2 units were used regularly on The Atlantic Limited between Montreal and Saint John. Normally the passenger units were maintained at The Glen the passenger yard located near Windsor Station. So I was surprised to find the 1802 out at St Luc. Both were sold to VIA rebuilt, renumbered transferred to Calgary and eventually scrapped.

We have all seen photos of this beautifully designed barn with its fence in the Grand Teton National Park . . . but to be in its very presence is an honor and privilege. What a wonderful setting . . . would love to visit in the spring with the mountains covered in snow.
[Located in Grand Teton National Park, The historic TA Moulton barn is over 100 years old.
Started out of necessity to shelter his horses against the harsh winters of the Tetons and Jackson Hole, Thomas Alma Moulton didn’t know he was building a future landmark to a nation and mecca for photographers to come to. He and his two sons, Clark and Harley worked the land to provide for their families. They worked together along with their neighbors to carve out a meager existance along what was known as Mormon Row. Started in 1913, it took many years for the Grand Teton barn to be in its current form. First built as a square box, later on the peak and one lean to side was added. Later, when more room was needed, the other lean to side was added. This was a functional working barn. It was never intended to be the most photographed barn in America.
Two brothers, Thomas, John filed on their 160 acre homesteads in of 1907. A third brother, Wallace filed a year later. They had learned of the rich soil from other Mormon homesteaders who had filed before them. He first built a small cabin to live in during the summer while working the land and building on his barn. In 1912 Alma and Lucile and baby Clark, moved from Idaho to the homestead into a cabin with a dirt floor and not much more.

Beim Fotografieren des Wochenthemas „in einer Reihe“ von der Flickr Makrogruppe Macro Mondays fielen mir die attraktiven Holzperlen ein.
Ich dachte, das wäre ein weiteres reizvolles Motiv für ein Street Art Bild.
Es entstand das Problem, die Holzperlen spannend darzustellen.
Probierte vielerlei Positionen, Ausschnitte und Entfernungen zu den Holzperlen aus. Fotografierte dann in scharf / unscharf Einstellung die Holzperlen.
Dann der Konflikt der Darstellung der Fotografie. Holzperlen farbig darstellten oder in Schwarzweiß.
Fotografie digital bearbeitet.
Im Prozess der digitalen Bearbeitung gesehen, dass ich auf einem positiven Weg bin.
Am Ende ein digital gemaltes Makro Crypto-Art Bild entstanden, mit dem ich zufrieden bin.

While photographing the weekly theme „in a row“ from the Flickr macro group Macro Mondays, the attractive wooden beads came to mind.
I thought that would be another attractive motif for a street art picture.
The problem arose of presenting the wooden beads in an exciting way.
Tried different positions, sections and distances to the wooden beads. Then photographed the wooden beads in focus / out of focus.
Then the conflict of the representation of the photograph. Depicted wooden beads in color or in black and white.
Photograph digitally processed.
Seen in the process of digital editing that I’m on a positive path.
In the end, a digitally painted macro Crypto-Art picture was created, with which I am satisfied.

This is the original house the classic movie was filmed at in Cleveland. Ohio. The movie was filmed in 1983. The house was purchased on eBay in 2004 for $150,000. The house opened as a museum in 2006.

Since this type of photography is all new to me, if this is a flop feel free to critique. I always enjoy feedback! With that said, I personally don't love white skies but here at least in my opinion it worked and looks like white paint streaking through the shot. ;-)
I have been on the hunt and driving all week looking for Autumn foliage and there is just not much, just a sprinkle here and there around the state when it should be peak foliage by now. We have a pretty extreme drought as well. Our lakes, rivers, and waterfalls are dried up. So photographing has been a challenge over the last several days.
I got my ND filter and went out yesterday and used it. OMG, Too funny! So here is an idea! Photograph as if you are a blind man! LOL All my photos were blurry, that is the ones I shot with the ND filter. Ok, so it is not blond proof and next time I will focus the camera before I put the ND filter on. LOL
I was kind of distracted in a good way though. I met a new friend that is learning photography that is visiting in Connecticut from Europe. I helped him out to give him some advice about settings. Though, he is absolutely a natural! He was so very kind too! He gave me an Amber necklace when he took a quick run home to get his tripod. He is a jazz musician and he also gave me his CD! It is amazing! Most of all, I enjoyed the company and meeting a great guy and a new friend!

I purchased an AC adapter for my camera and it arrived yesterday. I have been wanting to create some really fun and interesting time lapse videos but I knew my batteries wouldn't hold out long enough.
This video is of my bedroom curtains. One of my favorite things in my bedroom. I love how the light shines through them each morning and changes as the sun rises. I may try to record from the time I wake up until noon sometime to give a full effect.
The music in this video is suitable because this will truly be one of the things I miss when I move away from home.
The music is "Goodbye Sooner or Later" by oldDog.
Technical: I recorded video footage for 46 minutes (the maximum I can record on a 1GB memory stick). I imported the video into Sony Vegas Movie Studio (Platinum Edition). I speed the footage up as fast as I could, rendered it out in an uncompressed format. Pulled it back in and speed it up even more, rendered it back out. Pulled it back in, added saturation and luminance, music and exported. The reason I had to render it out twice was because Sony Vegas has a speed limit, I guess is a good way to put it!

There are 5 cabinet color choices that all compliment each other. I love the trend of duo toned cabinets, so you have the option to color the top and bottom cabinets as different choices. The cream color is shown in the ad above. There's a white color that you could easily tint if you felt the need for a color outside of those offered.
Counter top options include: wood, granite, marble, and limestone.
Metals come in silver + gold.
All color options are accessible via HUD.
Land impacts range from 2-8 per piece. All general cabinetry are 2 LI each.
Alignment is hassle free by using the copy/paste feature in the Firestorm object position menu. This works with every modular piece.
