Medics check the pulse of a simulated wounded victim up during a mass casualty exercise Feb. 5 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The exercise tested the Army’s 6th Ranger Training Battalion’s responses to and handling of a major accident deep within the Eglin range. Soldiers were the first on scene and had to manage the aftermath of a head-on collision and coordinate rescue efforts with Eglin emergency responders and county rescue teams. The GCC Pulse accelerometer from gettheworldmoving.com. I'm carrying it everywhere I go between now and mid Septemeber while taking part in the GGC's 10,000 steps per day challenge. As you can see, I've gone twice over the target today.

Pulse Portal from: Chicago, IL year: 2016
A portal acts as a gateway to a distant and magical world. Pulse Portal is a freestanding laser cut parabolic archway made from steel and tessellated dichroic acrylic pyramids. Juxtaposing futuristic materials that reflect the viewer and the rugged landscape will provide a sense of awe and inspiration as they step onto the playa. The combination of these materials and geometric design will create an effect that simultaneously feels space age and classic effectively placing the viewer in a time portal. Featuring Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's Pulse Front: Relational Architecture 12
Testing the lights at Toronto's Harbourfront Centre for the upcoming Luminato event in June 2007.
Get to the heart of this exhibit where man and technology converge in a dazzling light sculpture
A matrix of light beams over Harbourfront, originating from twenty of the worlds most powerful robotic searchlights, is entirely controlled by a network of sensors that measure the heart rate of passers-by. Up to 20 metal sculptures, with embedded sensors and computers, are placed along Toronto's harbour. Pulse readings, from people gripping the sculptures, are converted into light pulses by computers that also determine the orientation of the beams. With over 200,000 watts of power and 15 km visibility, Pulse Front blends the intimate with the spectacular in one of Toronto's most popular public spaces.
