Featuring Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's Pulse Front: Relational Architecture 12
Testing the lights at Toronto's Harbourfront Centre for the upcoming Luminato event in June 2007.
Get to the heart of this exhibit where man and technology converge in a dazzling light sculpture
A matrix of light beams over Harbourfront, originating from twenty of the worlds most powerful robotic searchlights, is entirely controlled by a network of sensors that measure the heart rate of passers-by. Up to 20 metal sculptures, with embedded sensors and computers, are placed along Toronto's harbour. Pulse readings, from people gripping the sculptures, are converted into light pulses by computers that also determine the orientation of the beams. With over 200,000 watts of power and 15 km visibility, Pulse Front blends the intimate with the spectacular in one of Toronto's most popular public spaces.
This new cafe has just opened on Fossgate, York. It claims to be for creative types. They have the internet, mend computers and have a wifi hotspot. There don't seem to be many places to sit inside and the arty atmosphere was rather spoiled by modern rock music on the sound system.

Wow! The Pulse creates digital copies of all that you write by hand while recording audio at the same time and links the two together, so that you can quickly access the audio recordings by tapping your notes. You can upload the files to your computer where LiveScribe software archives and makes your notes fully searchable. You can also upload files to the community and share your notes with other people.
There are also some extra features like a calculator, translator (demo) and even a paper piano that plays a mini piano or other instruments with different rythms you draw on paper.
It has a bright OLED screen that displays information, a built in microphone and loudspeaker, a 3d microphone/headphone connector and a magnetic USB dock/data connector.
Innovative and useful, t makes taking notes fun...

Found this contraption in a parking lot near the show, is not a plane, but a street legal tricycle with a Honda Goldwing engine, two people ride in tandem. According to the owner, 100 hp and weighing only 900 lbs, they capable of 150mph and 60 miles/gallon. Not too many of them were made...he drove it for many years, and was convinced that people thought it was a UFO, when he was passing them at night on an open road.

The New Superfood for Millennials: Pulses
Pulses are setting the trend in the food industry. From pistachio, quinoa and kale, pulses are now becoming more popular. It is very healthy and versatile that you can eat and/or mix it with our usual favorite dishes - and that is exactly what we experienced during our 2-day trip in Bangkok where we were treated to Pulse-ating food feast. www.ruthdelacruz.com/2018/01/superfood-pulses.html
