Created early last century by Pulham and Son

Pulham Market Church (the next village to me) across the fields with footpath along the hedge to the village.

Pulham St Mary church porch against a new developing sky. The achievement of man against the wonder of nature.

Both images taken from almost the same location - one facing toward Pulham Market the other toward Pulham St Mary. On into the sun the other away from the sun.

From a frosty walk on this last day of 2020. Let us hope for something better for 2021, whilst keeping the bits of good that have come from 2020! A thank you to all of you who visit, like and comment on my images. Especially during these times, I appreciate them all. Happy New Year everybody, stay safe and enjoy the next year(s).

The village sign of Pulham St Mary. Why an airship and why Pulham Pigs? The airship is complete fact - an airship base was located just outside the village from 1916-30. The name - well the story goes that an old farmer at the time saw one of these airships and said "Thet luk loike a gret ol’'pig!" - and the name stuck.

bought myself a wider lens tonight so decided to try it out as it 16 - 35 mm so nice and wide for buildings i have been using a 24 -70mm so still quite wide but with over grown church yards and heavily built up sights i found i could not get further enough away , a little about the church The parish church, dedicated to St. Mary the Virgin, which gives the village the St Mary in its name, is believed to date from around 1258. The parish church is of flint construction with parts that date back to the thirteenth century.

Older maps and documents name the parish or village "Pulham Saint Mary the Virgin" - the latter two words are in modern times dropped, and Saint is typically abbreviated. The neighbouring parish and village, now called Pulham Market, was historically known as "Pulham Saint Mary Magdalene" after the dedication of its parish church.

Mono images of the church from this morning.

Newly into service and seen in its home village and about to turn right out of Moore Road into the High Street, en-route from Moreton in Marsh to Cheltenham on Friday 30th March 2012, is WP12 BUS, a Volvo B7RLE/MCV Evolution from the award winning fleet of Pulhams, Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire. This is one of three (the others being AP12 BUS and KP12 BUS) of these smart looking vehicles that Pulhams has taken delivery of, the first such Volvo B7RLE/MCV combinations for a UK operator since the new partnership was announced between Volvo and the Egyptian body builder, each seating 44 passengers and powered by the D7E 7.1 litre engine.

I think for me this photo will probably represent the finest hour at Pulhams, one of the last new coaches delivered prior to the sale to the mighty GoAhead Group. Last year's Volvo B11R "9700" UK22 PUL crosses Southwark Bridge this morning, 21st June, 2023.

Some shots from Oxford Station in April looking at the rail replacement coaches running to Didcot and back covering the lengthy line closure due to a unsafe viaduct.

Fresh out of the box, but launched into service on a filthy wet 1st March 2023 is DD23 BUS, one of two new Volvo B8RLE/MCV eVoRa B46F buses for the superb fleet of Pulham, Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire.
