This is the place in Olympia I really like to photograph. I took so many pictures of this old Sandman. This time it was windy and cloudy. Sometimes the water is very calm. One and the same place, but always different.

This rock is special to me. It’s where I watch otters sunbath and eat fish. Where eagles swoop down and steal the otters fish and where some of my dad’s ashes are spread. It’s like a rock, only special.

My "The New Beachcomber's Guide to the Pacific Northwest" (2019) by J. Duane Sept; calls the film on the rocks "Sea Tar" and says it is the Sporophyte stage of Masyocarpus papillatus, previously classified as Petrocelis franciscana.
