Description: Okay… here is one more Vertorama from that amazing Puffy Cloud Sunday that we had a couple of weeks ago.
Believe it or not... It took me more than three hours to process this Vertorama!! I was very determined to correct the exposure of the (underexposed) trees and dam wall. It's still quite dark... but this is a lot more how my eyes experienced the scene at the time!
Was it worth all the effort? Well... I'll let you be the judge of that! :)

It was near midnight... I could hardly keep my eyes open... I was so ready to hit the sack... I looked out the window... I was no longer sleepy! 😅
Thanks for your visit, enjoy your weekend!!! 🌺🌷

It was quite sunny when I drove there, a bit on and off but regularly enough the sun came through.. I went there especially because with the poplars being bald yet I hoped to be able to take a good picture of the chapel and the rest of the old abbey in the distance behind them, but non of my pictures worked.. it was either too dark and grey or too fainted of an image, my camera or me just couldn 't adapt that fast and then these big puffy clouds appeared.. just totally hiding what I was there for! Going through my pictures again now -searching for something else than flowers at this season- I realized this view on itself was quite extraordinary, so..
I happen to really like this perspective on this old gate and fence. I think it was the right kind of day with just a bit of cloud over me when I shot this. I do NOT like harsh sunlight. Grey is where it all looks beautiful.
Happy Fence Friday

Another spot along the West Okement River from last Saturday. This is how the river looks snaking along Black-a-Tor Copse in the valley. Just a few metres further upstream rom where I took this photo we had a wonderful rest, took off our hiking boots and enjoyed a refreshing dip in the cold stream. If someone would ask me what my perfect weekend would look like - this is it folks!
Said to be the largest rock basin on Dartmoor this naturally eroded feature is on top of Kestor Rock (a tor that does not carry tor in the name). Whe climbed up as part of a fantastic circular hike around Scorhill and Gidleigh on North Eastern Dartmoor. We first spotted some smaller basins and thought that those were the one mentioned before almost falling into that incredible well! As with many Darmoor locations this basin also comes along with plenty of legends. Druids possibly used the basin for sacrificial rituals....
For those interested, I made a video of the entire walk:

"Out & About" today roaming around looking for signs of spring. This rural pond recreational area was a delightful sight with melting ice, blue sky and almost no snow! What a difference one week can make in the landscape!
It's been a VERY long winter in north Iowa, so these simple visual treats are a welcomed sight!

It is hard to stay on top of all this chaos. One does not want to fail their loved ones. It seems every day is tougher. It is so hard to navigate the madness. Yet being aware of everything all the time is the only way to survive it.
Like this fence, adjustment is needed.
Happy Fence Friday
Flying back to Vancouver from Los Angeles last year.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR VIEWS AND FAVES, ETC.
I APPRECIATE IT!!!
This was the pretty view down Bovey Valley at the beginning of our circular walk last Sunday. Down in the valley the river Bovey flows along and part of the walk was following the river downstream. We then ascended through the ancient woodland and came out on in a clearing just opposite this view on the other side of the valley.
Online I found a photo of an old Victorian postcard with almost the same view: eastdartmoorwoodsdotorg.files.wordpress.com/2017/06/postc...
Leland - Iowa
This area south of Leland where the river winds and turns is called the "Twister." Who thought that one up is unknown, but as the river meanders around in this low flat area, the name fits quite well . . .
Wildlife, wildflowers and no trail hiking is it's attraction. On this very windy day, just watching the clouds roll overhead was worth the hike!

Just old fashion manual DRI which had some textures applied, which I removed in this repost. Reason: I'm not feeling comfortable using textures very often and this time I believe they just didn't add anything ecstatic to the otherwise nice and carefully captured image.

Good Morning From Tennessee
Wish each of you, a very blessed and happy day ...
And a wonderful start, to the month of May .....
This curious little hut is located within the gardens of Killerton, a National Trust maintained 18th century house and estate. The bear's hut was built 1808 as some kind of summerhouse for the family of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland who resided at Killerton at that time.
The hut is entirely made out of timber and is heavily decorated with pine cones and wooden carvings. The interior features walls lined with deer skin and the inner room is plastered with deer knuckle-bones!??! A summerhouse of the weird kind :-)
Taken on my afternoon walk along the hydro corridor today. It felt like -13 Celsius
