The Sierra del Rincón in the Community of Madrid in the northeast of the region, allows you to walk through its lush forests of honey oak, beech forests, drive between high mountains and pass through lonely stone villages as if you had moved back in time several centuries ago to a very very distant place.

Puebla (Where I live) is a beautiful city, temp is about 25C all year long, but in winter, sometimes the city has a -3C feeling. There is a little town, located near the crater of the Popocatépetl volcano, where, no matter what season of the year we are in, the weather is always kind, with a 28C temperature all year long, this is the tower of the main church in Atlixco, If you come to Puebla, it is a place to visit.

Uno de los patios internos del monasterio tiene este pasillo que lleva a la Cámara de la Virgen. quería una foto sin gente pero ya había muchas personas alrededor al momento y no me quedó mas que tomarla así, me gustó el resultado. /

One fo the inner gardens of the monastery has this tunnel that takes us up to the Virgin Chambers. I Wanted a clear pathway but there were too many people around at the time and I took this shot. I was pelase with the result.

The colourful facade of Chignahuapan's Parroquia de Santiago Apóstol.

1 of 2.

The church was not open during our visit.

The church was founded in the 16th century, this mortar façade was designed and refinished between 1752 and 1822.

The facade is the best example of the baroque style indigenous people adopted, hiding their gods among the array of Christian images.

For example, Tlaloc is hidden among fruits and reliefs. The gargoyles are serpents silently holding prayers addressed to Quetzalcoatl.

Above on the third floor Apostle Saint James appears in high relief, taking the entire Middle Ages with him:with his horse and his sword drawn.

In the tower on the right side is the first clock made by the famous Centenario factory in Zacatlán.

Inside the church on a neoclassical altar sits the Virgin of the Assumption accompanied by a pair of baroque altarpieces on the sides, dedicated to the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Conception.

A close up of Valle de Bravo Kiosco decked out for Dia de los Muertos.

In the central garden of Valle de Bravo, the first cemetery of the colonial era was located as part of the adjoining 1865 built parish of San Francisco de Asís.

Its tombstones, some still visible, are vestiges of the past, and remind us that life, in all its forms, has been present in this place for centuries.

In the revolutionary era (The Mexican Revolution, 1910-20), trenches were placed in the garden to defend the town during armed conflicts.

Today, the garden and kiosko are one of the favorite places to admire the architecture of the area.

Twin Bell towers, built in pink stone, of Parroquia de Santa Prisca y San Sebastían (Church of Santa Prisca).

The church was built between 1751 and 1759 by José de la Borda (ca. 1700–1778), who made a great fortune in the silver mines surrounding the town.

The two twin towers are designed in Churrigueresque style.

The original 16th Century tower of Parroquia de San Francisco de Asís (Cathedral of San Francisco de Asís) is still standing beside the later built church.
