Led by Spc. Eric Cook carrying a loudspeaker, Soldiers from 324th Psychological Operatons company, stationed in Aurora, Colo., cross an ice bridge during cold weather, high altitude training at Camp Hale, Colorado, March 5-7. The training included negotiating up the snowy mountains to broadcast a message, how to prevent cold weather injuries, assesesment of a local populace, and winter driving. The 324th PSYOP Battlation is part of the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne).

Old Orgun, Afghanistan -Sergeant Martin Morales from the 345th Tactical Psyops Company Airborne battalion enjoys the opening ceremony of the newly built school in Old Orgun in Afghanistan's Paktia province. The 96th Civil Affairs battalion assisted the Afghan government in the building and supervision of the school project. This school is the first school built in this province in 700 years the school will be opened to boys and girls. The soldiers stationed at Camp Harriman are working to improve quality of life for local Afghans while continuing to seek out Al Qaeda and Taliban. In support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Soldiers loaded with equipment, supplies, and ammo prepare to board a Sea Stallion for the Final Training Exercise (FTX), which takes place at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on EXERCISE SOUTHBOUND TROOPER VI (EX SBT VI), Fort Pickett, Virginia, 23 Feb 2006.
EXERCISE SOUTHBOUND TROOPER VI (EX SBT VI) is annual exercise centered on an infantry Task Force (TF 36) drawn from the units of 36 Canadian Brigade Group (36 CBG), which is from Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. 36 CBG units include four infantry units, two service battalions, one artillery regiment and one armoured reconnaissance regiment.
Other participating Canadian units include Civilian Military Cooperation teams (CIMIC), Psychological Operations teams (PsyOps), 3 Intelligence Company (3 Int Coy), and 30 Military Police Company (30 MP Coy) from Land Force Atlantic Area (LFAA) . Supporting Communications personnel are from 723 Communications Group (723 Comm Group) and medical personnel from 33 and 35 Field Ambulance, Canadian Forces Medical Group.
EX SBT VI is held at Fort Pickett, Virginia, and focuses on live-fire ranges, rappel training, Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) tasks, artillery live fire, Combat Service Support tasks and airmobile operations in the Full Spectrum Operations context.
EX SBT VI is held from 18-26 February, 2006.

The Lockheed EC-130 is a modified C-130 Hercules used to conduct psychological operations (PSYOP) and civil affairs broadcast missions in the standard AM, FM, HF, TV and military communications bands. Missions are flown at the maximum altitudes possible to ensure optimum propagation patterns. The EC-130 flies during either day or night scenarios with equal success, and is air-refuelable. A typical mission consists of a single-ship orbit which is offset from the desired target audience. The targets may be either military or civilian personnel. The Commando Solo is operated exclusively by the 193d Special Operations Wing, which is based at the Harrisburg International Airport in Middletown, Pennsylvania.
Other EC-130 variants include ABCCC and Compass Call. The ABCCC is an Airborne Battlefield Command and Control Center used as an airborne command post. Last, but not least, Compass Call is an airborne communications jamming platform. It was used extensively in the Gulf War disrupting Iraqi communications at both the strategic and tactical levels.
For 30 years, from December 1963 to August 1993, the US Navy EC-130Q kept silent watch over America. For almost 20 years they flew non-stop 24 hours a day, 7 days a week "Just in Case".
The Lockheed EC-130Q is capable of communicating with submerged submarines.
The 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG), often called The Boneyard, is a United States Air Force aircraft storage and maintenance facility in Tucson, Arizona, located on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. AMARG was previously Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center, AMARC, and before that the Military Aircraft Storage and Disposal Center, MASDC.
It takes care of more than 4,400 aircraft, including 700 F-4 Phantom IIs, whose total original purchase price is estimated at $27 billion. An Air Force Material Command unit, the group is under the command of the 309th Maintenance Wing of Hill Air Force Base, Utah. AMARG was originally meant to store excess Department of Defense and Coast Guard aircraft, but has in recent years been designated the sole repository of out-of-service aircraft from all branches of the US government.
Tom was pretty fluent in Vietnamese and was one of two PSYOPS (psychological operations) personnel assigned to the team while I was there. He was a graduate of Notre Dame. Tom, Earl Funk (from the 261st Signal Bn.) and I were roommates for a time. Believe he was from Indiana and Earl was from Illinois.
Tom went home in early Jan, 1971. Can't remember if Earl was still there or not, believe he was.
Task Force 68, which is made up of paratroopers from the U.S., Germany, France, Holland and the United Kingdom, re-enacted the D-Day airborne operation on the La Fiere fields near Ste. Mere Eglise, France to commemorate the heroic acts of the WWII paratroopers who made the jump 68 years ago. After the jump, the task force marched into the town of Ste. Mere Eglise to the sounds of cheers from the locals. Task Force 68 is in Normandy, France to commemorate the 68th anniversary of D-Day.

I had to hang out the side of the helicopter, stretch my arm out, and guess at the aim. I took several photos to get one good one. We were dropping leaflets to encourage the villagers to work with us.

Nometnē piedalījās 87 zemessargi, no kuriem 57 bija apmācāmie, bet pārējie sniedza nometnei atbalstu. Rotā, kurai tika rīkota šī StBN nometne, dien Latvijas studentu korporāciju biedri, un nodaļas tika sagrupētas pēc piederības korporācijai.

The 395th Army Band performed for the 321st Civil Affairs Brigade's Change of Command Ceremony, Aug. 7. Col. Kenneth Moore relinquished command of the 321st Civil Affairs Brigade to Col. Darrell Guthrie in front of the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas.
The 321st CA Bde. is part of the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne) and was first constituted into the U.S. Army in 1945 as the 101st Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, Military Government Group from California. After inactivation in 1949 in Korea, the unit was redesignated as the 321st Military Government Group in 1955 and allotted to the Army Reserve. It was redesignated two more times until 1959 when it was changed to the 321st Civil Affairs Bde. and relocated in San Antonio in 1963.

William B. Caldwell the IV a US Army Lieutenant General and the Commander of the NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan ordered a psychological operations team of the military to illegally manipulate visiting US dignitaries into supporting calls for further troops and funding. Caldwell is alleged to have breached laws that prevent the use of military propaganda on US citizens, by inappropriately pressuring the team to compile dossiers on senators and senior military personnel that identify "hot button issues" and vulnerabilities of each, enabling the targeting of propaganda for “psyops” to “plant inside their heads”. Caldwell denies the allegation that he commanded the use of the psychological operations team to influence the visitors, however General David Petraeus the US commander in Afghanistan has ordered an investigation.
