I am frequently mistaken for someone not only with a job, but the assumption follows that it's a real job, whatever that is. It's amusing, but leaves me feeling slightly guilty, as if their not realizing that my mismatched ensemble is nothing like what a cube worker would wear, is somehow my fault.

But telling them that I'm really a deadbeat isn't going to help the situation, or make them like me more for it, and most likely would leave them swatting me with their handbag while screaming for the police.

And I would have to say "Not again mom!"
