The edible cake is the fondant covered mushroom. White chocolate mushrooms sprout up around the base. A special emphasis was put on the inclusion of white for extra psychedelic black light effect.! Glow sticks surrounded the base.Elin.

To me this psychedelic glaze from a late 1960s piece of Poole pottery (a bowl) resembles a solar system going supernova. Colours oversaturated (a little!) to enhance the effect.

7 Days of Shooting ... Abstract Thursday ... Song title.

I created the abstract from a photograph of a brightly coloured croton, with psychedelic 60's music in mind and then I had to find a song which seemed to fit ... "Flaming" by Pink Floyd ... well the title anyway!

While I'm not into crystals and peace signs, I couldn't help but enjoy the fun colors of this gift shop across from Sunrise Park in Holly Hill, Florida. It boasts fun, Key West colors, and artsy decor, and brings an eclectic flair to a tiny strip mall that has one of the area's premier seafood restaurants. Not great quality, but it was a fun shot!

Just a psychedelic elevator, shot with my iPhone 4s.

Waaa!

I´m just wondering the effectss of eating it!!

Santa's a little freaked and may have had a shroom from my earlier Macro Monday theme that caused this psychedelic bokeh explosion.

Again a considerable amount of noise, which for some reason doesn't bother me but actually seems to enhance the surreal qualities of the photo. From my "Psychedelic Roses" set.

This tunnel connects the B/C concourses with the A concourse at the McNamara Terminal of Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW). I've always been on the run while passing through it, but today I had time to appreciate it.

Why psychedelic? Because it blows my mind with the detail a spider spins her web! I have never really looked at one this closely and seen the connecting dots, etc. I love how it's so strong yet sheer and fragile. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! I took this at night so was amazed it even turned out :)

Sha Tin area, Hong Kong + HDRi.

One of my standard HDRs. Digital blending of 7 exposures with adaptive light balance and tonal painting for color smoothing. Slight perspective correction. The 18-200 lens causes too much distortion at 18 mm.

It would be worth your time to take a look at some other Night Shots and HDR Images that I have made.

I am reviving my touch of making HDR images. I plan to be more regular on FlickR from now on.

Here's how it happened this time round. Psychedelic colours and flower implied hippies and the sixties music scene which implied John Lennon. Finding the quote was easy :)

From the Stanford Psychedelic Science Symposium. Gianni Glick did a recap of the 1960’s. Before Nixon’s War on Drugs, there were 1,000 medical studies of psychedelics with 40,000 participants. Stanford researchers even studied how LSD increases creativity in healthy volunteers… and Doug Englebart was an active enthusiast... as were others...

If you have found this, then I ask you to check out the prior image for a more 'normal' representation of bubbles!! I was on a mission to capture bubbles for a Macro Monday theme of 'floating'. Very few pictures, of the very many, turned out well. This was one huge conglomeration of bubbles I 'captured' on the bubble wand and brought right before the camera lens to try to photograph. Holding the bubble wand with one hand you can catch a couple of reflected glimpses of me here. It's as close to a selfie as they come!! ;-)

I decided to really exaggerate the colors and tones in this and just play with the photo in Camera Raw until I had reached a point I liked. Seems a bit psychedelic...thus the name. And no - no drugs were involved!

Week 26

I can't believe it but we are half way done with Evelyn's 52 weeks project. Time does fly and babies grow up so fast. Last week's posting was 6 months, but this week is only the half way mark. Why don't they match? There are a few reasons for this: a month is not always 31 days long, we started the project with week 0 (Evelyn's birth week), and unlike a calendar month, a calendar week is always 7 days. I haven't done all the calculations, but when we are done, we will probably have 53 photos in this 52 weeks project and the last week may not even fall on Evelyn's 1st birthday.

6 months or half a year is an important achievement in itself, but this week Evelyn has also achieved 2 major milestones. The first one you can see in the photo; Evelyn is now able to sit up all on her own. She no longer needs our help or to brace herself up with her hands. It's almost like turning on a switch; now's she's always sitting up like she's been doing it forever. We are obviously very happy that Evelyn has achieved this milestone, but it has also brought on new problems; Evelyn can reach for higher objects that are off the floor.

The second milestone is her ability to crawl. In the past she's gotten to places by slithering, rocking, or hopping, but now she can crawl, really crawl; that is moving using her hands and knees like the dictionary definition of crawl.

Finally, not quite a milestone but Evelyn can also pull herself up and support herself on her 2 feet while grasping at another object. These 3 new developments have allowed Evelyn to reach more things that she's not supposed to reach. She has gone vertical - more troubles for daddy and mommy. :)

Psychedelic art (also known as psychedelia) is art, graphics or visual displays related to or inspired by psychedelic experiences and hallucinations known to follow the ingestion of psychedelic drugs such as LSD and psilocybin. The word "psychedelic" (coined by British psychologist Humphry Osmond) means "mind manifesting". By that definition, all artistic efforts to depict the inner world of the psyche may be considered "psychedelic".

In common parlance "psychedelic art" refers above all to the art movement of the late 1960s counterculture, featuring highly distorted or surreal visuals, bright colors and full spectrums and animation (including cartoons) to evoke, convey, or enhance psychedelic experiences. Psychedelic visual arts were a counterpart to psychedelic rock music. Concert posters, album covers, liquid light shows, liquid light art, murals, comic books, underground newspapers and more reflected not only the kaleidoscopically swirling colour patterns of LSD hallucinations, but also revolutionary political, social and spiritual sentiments inspired by insights derived from these psychedelic states of consciousness.

Tiger Tattoo has an eclectic mix of decor for their shop. This psychedlic skull caught my eye. It seems to be vaguely Aztec in design, though again this wasn't something I asked Chris about. The dum-dum lollipop in the corner really makes this shot, don't you think?

It was nearing the end of the shoot, often the best time for ideas, when Alex pulled out his psychedelic lamp. And voila! The result!

Gaudi is psychedelic and using a super-wide lens and some careful processing really brings this out, even where the building is in shade - so good to be able to use loads of noise-free 'fill light' on my D700 shots :-)

Casa Batlló (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈkazə bəʎˈʎo, bədˈʎo]), is a building restored by Antoni Gaudí and Josep Maria Jujol, built in the year 1877 and remodelled in the years 1904–1906; located at 43, Passeig de Gràcia (passeig is Catalan for promenade or avenue), part of the Illa de la Discòrdia in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Spain.

The local name for the building is Casa dels ossos (House of Bones), and indeed it does have a visceral, skeletal organic quality. It was originally designed for a middle-class family and situated in a prosperous district of Barcelona.
